TV Guide has our first glimpse at the fiery new poster for The Vampire Diaries Season 5 and, as TV Guide points out, interesting placement for one Matt Donovan, yeah?
In dead center of the photo is our favorite mortal Matt (Zach Roerig). Perhaps his position means he’s about to get caught between two dueling sides? Or maybe he’s the moral compass that keeps the gang together.
TV Fanatic caught up with Steven R. McQueen and Charles Michael Davis – on the sets of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals respectively – and they each had plenty to say about the impending seasons of their shows. First up, McQueen talks Jeremy’s unusual circumstances:
In whose home will the character be residing? What will be his reaction to Damon dating Elena? How will he deal with a ghost of a girlfriend?
What kind of relationship does Marcel have with Klaus? What sort of challenges lie ahead for these supernatural powers? Does the character share a history with Rebekah? And what about those late-night dance parties on set?!?
E!Online has our first look at the October 3rd premiere of The Originals. Looks like we can expect flashbacks and the return of a gone-too-soon guest star.
With flashbacks playing such a major role on The Vampire Diaries, fans can expect to see even more on The Originals given the fact that Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah have clocked some thousand years. “I’ve read the first two scripts and I am just so excited. They both feature elements of flashback,” Morgan recently told us. “They’re both really on a larger scale. This is a war we’re building toward.”

WARNING: If you have not watched last night’s Vampire Diaries season finale yet, do not click as spoilers and speculation galore await beyond.
E!Online and Zap2It talked with Julie Plec about the various threads resolved and presented in the finale and what that means as we head into Season 5 (!!!).
We’ve just gotten started talking about season five, but one of the things we’re talking about is definitely learning more about the history
of the Salvatore family
. I would say that at this point the things we don’t know yet are fair game.
It’s been a rough few years for Damon
when it comes to his love life — but Julie tells us it’s finally time for him to have some legitimate joy in his life. “Yes. Absolutely,” she says. “We’re going to get to see Damon trying to be a good boyfriend, and while it’s not going to be easy, he’s going to try like hell to make it work, and they’re going to have a real opportunity for happiness.”
