I’d say Caroline. Auburn hair, green eyes… that’s canon. Plus her eyes are described as cat-like.

I dont think its Bonnie because she looks too edgy and rebel-ish. It could be Caroline, but I thought Caroline had blonde hair? Also it could just be a mix of features of the characters from the books. Just to spice up the cover of the last book rather than have it be just one specific character.

I definitely think it´s Caroline. Although I´d imagined her hair to be more brownish/reddish than this fire like red, she’s the only existing character that fits the picture. Green eyes, catlike gaze and auburn hair. I don’t think they would introduce a new character in the last novel that would be that important to be on the cover and since Caroline’s menace has been building up since the first book it would be fitting if it would reach a climax in Midnight. But we’ll see, I’m excited anyway!

The hair is red enough to be Bonnie’s- but it isn’t curly and she isn’t looking so sweet and bubbly. And the eyes, they’re brown- not green like a cat. So I’m betting on Caroline, but I wonder what importance she is to Midnight… I wonder…

I agree with Poppy, now that i think about it, about it maybe being Caroline. cant be Bonnie. also, o my goodness thanks for the shout out guys! i feel so special hehe :) i am eagerly awaiting Midnight so i just keep looking for even the tiniest sneak peek. finally got a great one! thank goodness cuz i am just too restless. come on Damon!

Regarding the image in the book. I see very possible that LJ forgot Bonnie’s eyes were supposed to be brown. Like in the Return, when Mrs. Flowers mentions her mother died in the changing of the last century…if Smith were actually following the timeline she set with the first four books then they would still be in the 1990′s so, therefore, Mrs. Flowers comment wouldn’t have had the impact it did in the text.
Just thought I should point out that authors do make mistakes. Besides, I like the combination of red hair and green eyes. Oh, and her eyes could be hazel…green or brown depending on the light.

On another front. I just read in another part of this site that the first book of Stefan’s Diaries was called “The Phantom”…What’s with that?

Yes, but You can see that in that picture Bonnie has light eyes. I can’t see if they’re green or blue, but they are not brown! So it sould be her, though I still think it’s Caroline and Bonnie already was on the Bulgarian cover of Dark Reunion as I said. :)

Most if not all of the pics in her gallery are from fans, she said so in one of her blogs but i can’t remember which one.

The Kitsunes Shinichi and Misao have black hair, with red tips, and golden eyes.

Im still convinced its bonnie the hair just looks two red to be caroline. im they have made major eye color mistakes before like on the cover of the awakening stefan has brown eyes while in the books he has leaf green eyes. i could see it as caroline but it doesnt seem as though shes a huge part of the book while in the description on amazon it explaine what a huge part bonnie plays in it i mean i though caroline was over with, its not like she has any power herself it all other people controlling her and giving her power. plus on all the covers they always put a hero not a villian except for the fury where they put katherine on the cover. i mean it seems pretty obvious to me that this is bonnie, the bright red hair, the bangs, the ultra pale skin (remember caroline had a tan) the hypnotic look in her eyes, the pouty lips…….. it just doesnt seem right as caroline. plus on the cover of nightfall damon had ultra straight hair-when in the book he has curly hair-its prob the same thing with bonnie having straight hair on the cover. to me it just seems like a cover design fetish with wanting to make it pop, therefore adding green eyes and straight hair to make it edgier

but it cant be caroline she looks too badass like who else might be so important to be on the cover hmmm… i guess it could be her but she seems so… different from the other girls alomst like a fairy lol well i guess i will have to read it to find out

actually, i think they still have to publish “the hunters” oh, and you are exactly correct. Caroline has UABURN hair. Its a chocolate brown with some red in it, so the cover doesnt do her any justice :D
