I agree with you completley the show and the books are very different. I have tried to look for similarities between them and really there are not many. In the book Elena doesent have a brother she has a little sister. My guess is because there trying to make it a family program for telivision they have to change the dinamics of the book so that it fits into the typical senarios for televison. Plus the last two books to me got a little bit confusing I had to reread and honestly skipped chapters because it was becoming to boring. T.V. has to keep a smooth story line to keep viewers interested. I think they should have kept the characters in the books and show similar to eachother. When I read the books and watch the show I dont even try to compare the two at all anymore because to me they seem like two entirely different things.  (Quote)

Now let me get this straight. Anyone who has read L.J’s books knows there is going to be a happy ending. My opinion study the riddle it holds clues for the next book. Now I’ll tell u guys what i think the riddle means.

The one with the secret is Mrs.Flowers. The murderer is Meredith. The one withe the memory erased id Bonnie. I mean come on, all through-out Shadow S. she didn’t have any vibe towards Damon. Oh and i think Damon and Elena slept together or got pretty damn close to.

Last but not least I’m betting Elena is going to choose Stefan. I mean think about it why would L.J have them fighting to be together through the entire series Just for Elena to end up saying, “what the hell am i doing? I want Damon! Get lost Stefan.” Damon is either going to end up alone or with Bonnie. Why Bonnie? Because she isn’t Elena. She brings out Damon’s protective side. Shes physically weak. And she needs a protector. Elena is strong and takes care of herself but i think Stefan’s time in the prison messed him up mentally Elena has to help him.

I really agree with you on that!!! I mean, the book is gonna be a lot more exciting if Damon and Bonnie are together, and Stefan and ELena can never be separated after all that has happened… THEYRE SO CUTE TOGETHER!!! I love how Stefan says little lovely love to Elena!! :)

I just got through reading Shadow Souls! But I cant believe damon is Motal!!! I loved his charactor as a vampire cause he was strond dark and mischevius!!! I think it should have been Stefan! I’ve been a Bonnie/Damon supporter since the very first book! I like weird pairings. I suppose I don’t really mind who Damon ends up with as long as it’s not Elena or Meredith. Ew.

I do not like Damon/Bonnie. That is just way fucking weird. Ew. If LJ does that I…I dunno, but I will be EXTREMELY pissed. RegardingDamon being mortal…I’m curious to where that’s going to take everything — an absolutely crazy twist. I don’t even know how to picture him human. Changing subjects here, I’m holding out hope for Meredith & Matt…I think they’d be perfect. — I personally think Bonnie’s just better off without a love interest. I’m also kind of scared that…what if history repeats itself? Like the whole Katherine thing and all. Maybe that’s just paranoia getting the best of me. lol. I love Damon and Elena, but I also love Stefan and that would hurt him incredibly and he really deserves a happy ending. And whatever happens I want Stefan and Elena to be together, they complete each other, and Elena is too pure at heart to be a princess of darkness, furthermore, Stefans been through a lot and if Elena does reject him for Damon, he would probably die of heartbreak of vampires could. I love the Idea of Damon and Bonnie theyre like the opposites attract spark. Bonnies weak and small but has a mentally tough brain especially as shes psychic or a witch thing and Damon could love nd protect her as much as she needs. Ive read Shadow Souls when it first came out and I think Delena hae had thier best moments already. In Midnight Meredith still has Alaric and Matt is rumoured to die anyway…  

First of all? Where do you get all that information? I’ve been dying to know something more about what’s coming in Midnight, nearly had a fit when the release date was pushed further away (I want it to come out already!)
About everything you say, I totally agree. And actually, i can’t believe I hadn’t considered what you mentioned about being Princess of Darkness, it really isn’t in Elena to be like that. I mena, if you had taken Elena as she was in the first book, all pretty- cheerleader school-princess show-off girl maybe (actually, that’s why I found so strange the radical way they changed her in the show…). Anyway, I digress, and agree that she doesn’t have it in her to be what Damon wants her to be. I like the idea of them being like siblings, the way they got along in Shadow Souls while fighting to get Stefan back was great, if we could just forget the Delena connotations.
And, in the end, I just love Bamon and Stelena, and Meredith/Alaric too; also in the show I like Caroline/Matt.

Totally agree with you, and another realization that just came to me. Anyone remembers that part in Shadow Souls, when Damon nearly dies, he mumbles something about Elena gaining something when he’s gone, like he did something to block her in some way…not quite sure, but the thing is, it could ‘possibly’ be related to what happened when she was a spirit, with the origin of her wings. And, since now Damon is human, does that mean whatever he did to block Elena is off?
Just wondering.

Whoa, ok. Huge Spoiler! Somewhere I read that Damon turning into a human would result in him falling for Bonnie while Elena will start loving him just as much as she loves Stefan. Wow, go Dalena! Anyway, so in another place I read that L.J. Smith would write two new trios, one a spin-off from TVD, the other as a continuation of TVD. The spin-off triology is called Stefan’s Diaries, and it’s about Stefan and Damon’s adventures before meeting Elena, and after Katherine. The second triology is called Phantom, Eversong, and Eternity and these three book talk about Stefan and Elena’s life after moving out of Fell’s Church to College.

I read one comment saying that Damons feelings towards bonnie are like a sister and not a girl friend ..Bonnie and Damon have both kissed a number of times think about it would any brother kiss there little sister.

I do hope Bonnie and Damon end together shes the only one that can get through to him through just being kind and pure.

If stefan dies that still dosent mean damon will be with elena because people it hasnt always been about the love between stefan/elena/damon it has also been about damon trying to re connect with his brother because he loves him more then anything so if stefan were to die i dont think he would take elena on board because he as nothing to prove anymore its not a compitetion anymore..

I think I could make a L.J.Smith following:
It was Damon and Elena together in the late Stefan and understand why it is best for her since Damon is human.
They married a daughter has spent some years and Stefan decides to visit them and falls in love with their daughter who already has some 17 years at the time. Meredith gets Alaric, Bonnie Matt.
It makes sense because Elena never wanted to become a vampire to stay with Stefan and their daughter can be so passionate about wanting to go to become a vampire and stay with Stefan forever!
NOTE: A final and Twilight …. more super romantic! and happy for all involved!

Damon and Elena = GROSS. Stefan and Elena belong together no matter what the fan-base thinks. It is about a “love triangle” but most of the series is based around Stefan/Elena’s solid romance. After everything that Elena has done for Stefan and what she has done to be with him and all that they have gone through together, why in the hell would Elena suddenly dump Stefan and go for Damon? That doesn’t make any sense to me at all. Damon/Elena’s relationship is NOT realistic whatsoever. Sure, Elena is attracted to him but she doesn’t love him the same way she loves Stefan. Stefan and Elena are COMPATIBLE, they are soul-mates. They understand each other. It’s just sad that people are trying to make a relationship something that it’s not. I get that people like Damon but that doesn’t mean that he should be with Elena, no matter how “awesome” his character may be or how “hot” you may think he is.

Hasn’t anyone read the end of Shadow Soul?
It mentions there, on the last chapter, that Damon becomes mortal, I mean it does shout it out that he does but its pretty obvious that it is because he is having problem BREATHING and bonnie is fixing him food as in FRUITS because she thinks he will be hungry later on…Remember? It’s because he broke that package that Stefan’s fox cell friend gave to him before they recused him. So its was kinda obvious that Damon is mortal in Midnight. And the whole Damon and Bonnie thing is just adorable! Throughout the past book Damon is shown to have a weakness towards her, so i defiantly think and hope they end up together. As for Elena and Stefan, their love for each other is too strong and too big that no way will they ever be apart. Its them two forever, whether Stefan is a vampire or not it will always be like that…Just how the book and author says so…If you really read the books you can see all of this. An incredible story.

Here’s my thoughts about Elena-Stefan-Damon triangle: i think that there is a good chance for Elena to choose Damon over Stefan..Because if you remember from the 1st book(The Awakening),when Elena at Bonnie’s home,decides for fun to find out who she will marry , Bonnie told her to invite the person,whoever it was, in.So Elena does so and Damon appears.. I think now that both Elena and Damon are mortals,they will end up together..And Bonnie with Matt ofcourse!It’s obvious!
