Russian cover for The Awakening & The StruggleThe Russian covers for L.J. Smith books have earned an affectionate reputation in the fandom for often having nothing at all to do with the actual stories. So we’re actually pretty impressed at this offering for Russia’s first omnibus edition of The Awakening and The Struggle, featuring an artistic rendition of one of the images from the Love Sucks promos of the TV series. Not so sure about the Twilight font, but we’ll live. ;) Russian fans (and covers collectors) can get their paws on it here, though we’re sorry to say there still doesn’t seem to be any sign of The Fury, Dark Reunion or Nightfall having been translated yet. Thanks to Tiaria for sending us the information!

On the subject of the Vampire Diaries books, we have some new dates for you to put into your diaries for the Return Trilogy. Amazon.ca has Midnight listed with a release date of December 8, 2010 (anyone else find it appropriate that the final part of a trilogy about Damon is set for release on Ian Somerhalder’s birthday?). The site also lists Shadow Souls as having a publication date of January 27, 2010. However, the Harper website still has that listed as 16 March, 2010, so we advise caution before getting your hopes up over an earlier release date. Thanks to Marie for the heads up.

    :) Funny stuff.

Red, you’re right, there are only the amateur translation of the last three books in russian and none in ukranian( And now we have a new “Awakening” publication… with “the cult vampire show” on the book cover though TVD wasn’t aired in Russia))))
Hope, it means Ren-TV airing someday.

    I found this on amazon
    http://bit.ly/4nWIKv

It says its the paperback for “Midnight” releasing July 2010, with a different publisher, it also has a description which im hoping its wrong.
Do you think this is fake? It just seems too early after Shadow Souls release, to be out.

That’s the UK publisher. Amazon can get whacky with dates, but synopses and the like come from the publishers. Thanks for this.

Oh, and i checked Harper Collins, which is the Australian Publisher for the books and it says Nightfall paperback will be out Jan1st 2010, and with Shadow Souls Paperback will be out March 1st 2010 *Dates may vary, i’ll keep an eye out*
(Australian publishers tend to release more often paperbacks earlier than most places)

Have you tried reading “Twilight” series in Russian – it’s just unreadable. Had to go back to the language of the origin :)
