According to HarperTeen.com, the first two volumes of The Vampire Diaries – The Awakening and The Struggle – will be re-released individually in North America on August 25th, and they’re available for pre-order:

Obviously this is only a few weeks before the September 10th premiere of the television series, so we can’t help but wonder if the books will feature tie-in artwork (cover art is currently unavailable). And, if so, we’re curious what that artwork will be, particularly if it features the actors – for reasons we probably don’t need to spell out at this point.
In any case, the collectors among you can raise your fists to the heavens in anguish – there’s more to buy!
