In light of recent drama, and because we have been receiving a lot of questions, we feel it’s time to set the record straight on a few things.

Vampire Support are teaming up with Michael Trevino on a new project to help save the wolves and raise money for Wolf Mountain Sanctuary in Southern California.
Vampire Support are currently selling “Team Tyler” t-shirts, and will also be selling “Team Tyler” wristbands in a few weeks. All proceeds from these sales will be going to Wolf Mountain.
It’s also possible to adopt a wolf at the sanctuary, so if that’s something that interests you, Vampire Support also have more information on that.

If you attended EyeCon this past weekend, or have watched video footage of Ian’s Q&A, you’ll know that Vampire Stalkers and Canvas Warriors have teamed up to auction off a “an exclusive pair of hand painted Chucks that will be tailor-made for the highest bidder, then be signed by Ian Somerhalder himself.” All proceeds from the auction will go to Ian Somerhalder Foundation.
Six days left in the auction and bidding has already reached over $1,000! For more details on the auction and to check out the handiwork, read all about it over at Vampire Stalkers. You can view the auction on eBay. Please be generous and bid! It’s all for a good cause.

EYECON ATTENDEES: RATE & TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE!
I’ve spent a lot of time the past few days struggling over how I was going to write about this past weekend’s 2011 EyeCon Vampire Diaries Convention, North America’s very first convention devoted exclusively to The Vampire Diaries. I wanted to be reasonable and fair and forgiving. But the truth of the matter is that other than meeting and hanging out with the amazing fans in attendance (thanks so much to those who swung by our table or stopped us in the halls to say hi!), the fun cast Q&As (I didn’t go for photo ops or autograph sessions, so can’t personally speak to those), and the overwhelming generosity and support of charity (both of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation and the various fandom charity groups present), I have nothing positive to say about the convention. As a “sponsor,” vendor, and fan, I found the entire EyeCon experience to be disappointing, infuriating, and downright embarrassing.

VAMPIRE-DIARIES.NET’S REVIEW OF 2011 EYECON VAMPIRE DIARIES CONVENTION: FOOL ME ONCE…
I’m in the process of writing my own review of the 2011 EyeCon Vampire Diaries Convention in Atlanta this past weekend (for now, let’s just say I was less than impressed with the con itself, but the fans were fabulous) [ETA: READ IT HERE] but we want to hear from you about your experience. If you attended the Con, please let us know your thoughts on the weekend – what you liked, what you didn’t like, what should be changed, etc.

The fabulous @TVD_Maria from The Delena Diaries snapped a whole bunch of photos from Paul Wesley’s Q&A session at EyeCon yesterday, and generously allowed us to share them with you (along with a few of Rob Pralgo from his own Q&A session). We’ll be posting more stuff from the event for you later, but in the meantime you can view the Paul photos in our gallery.

This weekend is the long-awaited EyeCon Vampire Diaries Convention, March 25-27, when fans the world (!!!) over will converge on Atlanta, Georgia for two and a half days of TVD goodness. I (Vee) and our very own episode recapper/author Crissy Calhoun will be in attendance, holding down the fort at the ECW Press/Smart Pop Books booth in the EyeCon Vendors’ Room. We will be selling/signing our books: Love You To Death: The Unofficial Companion to The Vampire Diaries by Crissy Calhoun (ECW Press) and A Visitor’s Guide to Mystic Falls: Your Favorite Authors on The Vampire Diaries, edited by Red & myself (Smart Pop Books). We will also have lots of other titles from ECW and Smart Pop! Crissy and I would love to meet you, talk TVD with you (I’m especially obsessed with hearing your sacrifice theories at the moment, the more crazycakes, the better!), and sign your books (if you already have them, please bring them with you!). If you don’t come to our booth and talk to us, we’ll have to pass the time singing “Wuthering Heights” and doing an interpretive dance. No one wants that, so stop by and distract us with stunning conversation!
If you caught our interview on The VRO this past Wednesday (missed it? listen here!), you know we have some cool plans in store. In addition to Vampire-Diaries.net and Vampire Support teaming up to cover the big event (wi-fi/phone networks willing!) via our blogs and Twitter (make sure you follow @tvdnews and @VampireSupport), we’re also collaborating on what we’ve dubbed a “Fandom Photo Booth.” We want to showcase YOU, the fans in attendance. Check out Chloe’s video explaining the details:
We really hope you’ll stop by the “photo booth” and have a blast. We’re excited about TVD fans bringing their personalities and originality to this and can’t wait to feature the final results on the blog and in the Gallery.
As you may have heard by now, Vampire Support has landed an exclusive video interview with Ian Somerhalder about all things Ian Somerhalder Foundation – but that’s not the only TVD cast member Ms. Chloe will be chatting with this weekend. Michael Trevino has been awesome enough to grant a video interview as well and we’re going to be gathering fan questions for him. Stay tuned tomorrow for a post all about it and start getting creative!

There’s been a lot of buzz over the past few weeks for The Hillywood Show‘s latest parody based on the Vampire Diaries. Well, it’s finally here, and it’s pretty damned hilarious (and this may be the one and only time we can forgive the use of ‘Stephen’ and ‘Damien’)! Enjoy, and be sure to check out the Hillywood Show website for official stills and other goodies.
