The Vampire Diaries returns tomorrow with Bring It On (EP416), so we also have the return of TV Guide‘s Vampire Diaries Bite video feature. This week, Ian Somerhalder discusses the new Elena:
“It’s super cool to see this super empowered woman where the boys aren’t scared she’s going to walk out the door and get killed because she’s a badass chick who can hold her own.”
B-E AGGRESSIVE, right, Elena? Check out another clip from tomorrow night’s brand-new episode of The Vampire Diaries, Bring It On (EP416).
Previously on The Vampire Diaries…*sniffle*. You guys, Stand By Me (EP415) might as well be called “Cry All Night” because that’s pretty much what everyone did. Nobody around here likes a hiatus, but at least we all had time to see our therapists, right? Ugh, this show.
Hopefully everyone’s talked out their emotions, because we’ve got a new episode rolling in tomorrow night (Bring It On EP216). If you need to catch up or just want to relive all those feelings, now’s your chance!
ETOnline interviewed Ian Somerhalder this morning about the recent happenings in Mystic Falls and, just in case you thought everything might be puppies and rainbows… Oh, who are we kidding? No one who watches this show ever thinks that. And Ian more or less confirms that the road is still rocky.
ETonline: It’s also got to be exciting as an actor that TVD allows you to play your character at various points in their life. We’ve seen Damon throughout the decades, and next week shows him circa 1970.
Somerhalder: Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. Our artisans and production design team went in and not only re-built CBGB’s but recreated the feeling of the ’70s [in Because the Night, airing March 21]. It’s so cool because you get to experience so many times in [Damon's] life. Now mind you, because there were so many decades, I think he evolved slower than most. I also love that because we get to go back and romanticize the social happenings of that time, we’re really reminded of The United States’ deep history and what Damon lived through is just a drop in the bucket compared to the other characters, who can go back thousands of years.
READ THE ENTIRE INTERVIEW AT ETONLINE. CAUTION: SPOILERS THROUGH STAND BY ME (EP415)!
Ian Somerhalder is extra playful in this interview with Zap2it, dodging questions about the sire bond and Damon and Elena’s relationship. He does have some insight into Elena’s state of mind, however, and talks a little about Rebekah and that character’s similarities to Damon. Ian also shares some of the truest words ever spoken about Mystic Falls:
“Can they sustain a relationship? Or — not a relationship, they are in a relationship, but can they sustain a romance? It’s hard to sustain anything in Mystic Falls, except, like, a drinking habit. Those seem to be pretty sustainable,” he teases.
As the countdown ticks ever closer to Thursday, the CW has released another webclip featuring Damon and Klaus for Bring It On (EP416), courtesy of TV Guide!
We’ve got less than a week until new episodes return with Bring It On (EP416), and the CW has a webclip for you!
The CW has released the official synopsis for The Vampire Diaries: American Gothic (EP418), airing Thursday, March 28th. Highlight for spoilers:
RACE FOR THE CURE — Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) take off in search of Katherine (also played by Nina Dobrev) and find themselves in a small town in Pennsylvania, where Elena has a surprising encounter with another old acquaintance — Elijah (guest star Daniel Gillies). Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are both concerned about Elena’s state of mind and are determined to do what’s best for her, but she makes it clear that helping her will be difficult. Damon is not sure how to react when Stefan reveals his unexpected plan for the future. Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) receives Caroline’s (Candice Accola) reluctant help and comes to a new understanding of Silas’ powers.
The episode was directed by Kellie Cyrus and written by Evan Bleiweiss & Jose Molina.
