Here’s your first promo for next week’s new episode of The Vampire Diaries, Gone Girl (EP515), which will air on Thursday, March 6th at 8/7c.
THIS POST IS A STICKY. KEEP SCROLLING FOR NEW POSTS.
Damon seems to spend a lot of time tied up. Not that we’re complaining, because chains are a good look on him. He’s in for a rough time of it tonight, with Stefan out to stage an intervention and Dr. Wes setting a trap for him. It’s debatable which is the worse fate. Or who’s using the chains…

More interviews with Caroline Dries as we prepare for tonight’s all-new episode of The Vampire Diaries, No Exit (EP514). First up, Dries talks to Alloy Entertainment about the fall-out from Total Eclipse of the Hart, including Katherine’s plans to get close to Stefan.
Alloy Entertainment: When Katherine was on her deathbed, fans was [sic] pleading for her life to be spared. After she took over Elena’s body, everyone was like “Off with her head!” And during TVD episode 5×14, she’s probably going to inspire even more passionate reactions since she’s going to shamelessly flirt with Stefan. How much fun did the writers have dreaming up seduction tactics for Katherine to use?
Caroline Dries: Are you kidding me? I was so excited for this storyline. When Brian [Young] was writing it and I was reading it — just to think about what could happen — I felt like we were brainstorming fan fiction. I love these scenes so much, and of course it was super fun. It’s a fine dance for Katherine because she has to pretend to be Elena, but, at that same time, she wants to put the moves on Stefan. So we had to figure out how to achieve that in a believable yet entertaining way. I would say it’s Katherine at her sexiest and it’s very intriguing to watch.
And over at Hollywood Life, Dries hints that Tyler and Caroline aren’t over the Klaus-shaped bump in the road.
“They still have a lot to deal with, with learning that Caroline slept with Klaus,” says Dries. “That’s a really deep wound for Tyler to come to terms with. They’re trying to be friends, but there’s this big, dark cloud hanging over them that he can’t erase… That conflict will rear its head again, so they’ll both have to talk about it.”
Need a few hints of what’s to come when The Vampire Diaries returns with No Exit (EP514) tonight? EP Caroline Dries has you covered with a few new interviews. At TVLine, she talks about Katherine-as-Elena’s plans for Stefan, whether Elena will be back, and Damon’s path:
“It’s not going to be an easy road for Damon to come back, because what he did was pretty bad. What we’re trying to explore is, now that Stefan is moving on from Elena after this whole Katherine chapter closes, he’s trying to figure out the next big movement in his life. And since his brother needs him more than ever, Stefan will be the one to kind of pick him up — in a very Stefan kind of way.”
She also talks Matt, Tyler, Caroline, and more.
And over at TV Guide, Dries discusses the complex relationships between the Salvatores, Elena, and Katherine, and how they will affect things going forward. On Damon’s infection:
“We knew what we were doing when we put this in him, but at the same time it’s like, ‘OK, what do we do now because he actually might not get out of it?’ So Damon’s objective is: How do I survive without killing all my friends who happen to be the thing I want to eat?”

Previously on The Vampire Diaries… Good god, it’s been forever, hasn’t it? A total eclipse of our hearts for three weeks. But it’s okay, lovely viewers: TVD is back, finally, and before we move on to new shenanigans, let us reflect on the weird, snarky, bloody glory of Total Eclipse of the Heart (EP513).
Both Caroline and Damon want to make a clean, no-looking-back, burn-the-bridges breaks from their past relationships. Caroline’s method — shredding photos and a fan-favorite horse drawing — is a little less dark than Damon’s, which involves murder, more murder, and attempted murder on a little brother who’s seen way more than his fair share of being murdered.
Vampire Diaries In Review: Total Eclipse of the Heart (EP513) – Never Be Wrong Together

Guys, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” was a very existential episode! In a general sense it was also very retro: Tons of Season 1 feels all over the place, from the diary intro (again with the diary intro!), but especially to the very Season 1-seeming Damon. The only thing that was missing was the white pancake makeup, but other than that, this was old-school Damon for sure. (Still patiently waiting for another Depeche Mode underwear dance party scene.)

This is why you always kill the bad guy. The last few episodes have been blissfully Dr. Maxfield-free. But it was never a question of if he would come back, but when; the last vision of Elena and Stefan leaving him knocked out on the floor, but not finishing the job, ensuring his return to cause more problems. It’s just The Vampire Diaries’ way.
