Damon hasn’t seen Stefan in 15 years? I would love to see flashbacks of Damon and Stefan in the early 90′s. Flannel shirts, long hair, Nirvana music…Can you just image Damon head-banging at some Lilith Fair concert? :p

Thanks for the link back :) I love coming to this site, and catching up on all the TVD goodness as much as possible.

Can I emphasize again at how amazed I am that the cast could be as thoughtful considering the lack of sleep? But that’s why they’re pros, lol. I dare anyone to stay as alert for as long considering the hours they’re working, THEN jetting back/forth from Georgia to California.

Anyhow, I’m not sure if I’m breaking any unspoken code, but I wanted to drop by with more info since it’s not possible to include everything from the interviews in an article. Plus, I figure you guys deserve to know it.

* Sorry to beat this dead horse, but casting Elena as a brunette was not their mission from the getgo. Nina pretty much captured the kind of persona they were looking for as the character.
And yes, even the character scripted is different than the books however let’s face the truth. Translating Elena from the books as a likable character onscreen while sticking to canon would have been hard to sell for a mostly unfamiliar audience to the books.

* I couldn’t help but smile when both Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec mentioned the fact they had to comb through the books to find out the mascot for the school; only to later find the answer online from avid fans of the books. Seriously, if anyone ever doubts they care to do their research? Well put those aside.

All in all, I know there are hardcore fans of the books here, and it’s great! I read the books as a young teen, but for me it’s surreal considering how long ago. At the same time, one can only do so much in producing something onscreen that can live up to the image we all have in our mind concerning these characters.

I can honestly speak from my own impression that all those involved with the show are taking serious efforts (i.e. research) in making this show work for both fans of the books, as well as those who just love the whole vampire genre.

Alright so that’s my little tidbit, and like most of you I can’t wait until September!

Gotta rush back to work, break is over now, lol.

AHHHH! This is when they first share blood correct? That’s exciting that’s the scene he’s looking forward to, means it should be really good!

In my mind, Damon was always doing an opened shirt thing. Almost like one of those cheesy romance novel hero thing. Sorry, if it so cliche but that was the mental canon of my 14 year old self.

But of course shirtless is ok too! :D Really, I am all for shirtless!
