Why is Meredith missing in the TV show?
According to executive producers/writers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson, Meredith will indeed be part of the TV series. And no, we don’t know if they have someone in mind for the role – yet.
Why is Fell’s Church now Mystic Falls? Why are so many of the names changed?
According to Executive Producer Julie Plec, some of the names were not clearable for legal reasons. She promised clarification “in due time.” In some cases, name have been changed in response to new relationships (Vickie Bennett and Matt Honeycutt are now brother and sister, thus the new last name of Donovan) or transferred to other characters (Bonnie McCullough has now become Bonnie Bennett).
What’s up with the name Whitmore?
In the leaked casting sides from the pilot script, Stefan and Damon’s last name was Whitmore. This was the chosen name in case Salvatore wasn’t cleared through legal. In the early morning hours before the CW upfront on May 21, 2009, Julie Plec announced on her Twitter that the name would be Salvatore after all.
Who is Sarah Carey?
During the initial cast announcements, The Hollywood Reporter misreported the name of the actress playing Jenna, Elena’s aunt, as Sarah Carey. An anonymous source contacted Vampire-Diaries.net to clarify that Sarah Carey did not exist and the name of the actress playing Jenna was actually Sara Canning.
What is the Stefan’s Diaries trilogy?
The Stefan’s Diaries trilogy is a prequel series soon to be published by HarperTeen and is based on the TV series’ mythology. Kevin Williamson, Julie Plec, and L.J. Smith all consulted on the series. The three books will be: #1: Origins (release date: November 2, 2010), #2: Bloodlust (release date: January 4, 2011), and #3: The Craving (release date: May 3, 2011). Again, we are a fansite and connected in no way with the TV production. Sending us your info will do you no good. If you’re interested in auditioning for the show, you’ll have to do your own research and keep an eye on casting calls.
Why doesn’t the Vampire Diaries cast come to [insert city or country here]?
The cast goes where they are scheduled by Warner Bros. and the CW Network to go. They often do not have control over those arrangements. If you want the cast to come to your city, you should write the WB and the CW.
