The witch revival, Alaric turned into the ultimate vampire hunter, the fiasco of season 3. Not one bit of it made any sense to me at all.

I was happy Daniel Gillies was included in the TVD season 4 promotional photo shoot. Hopefully, he will have a larger part this season and will be there right along with Claire Holt & Joseph Morgan. One of the best decisions made was making Joseph Morgan a regular main cast member. He is way too talented to loose. I don’t think Claire has been promoted to series regular……… yet, but I sincerely hope she will be. I love her as Rebekah. As a matter of fact Rebekah has quickly become one of my favorites.

Also, Torrey was a part of the TVD season 4 promotional photo shoot, which surprises me considering her role is very small, at least so far. Maybe she will have a bigger part in the show this coming season.

It is nice that the TVD season 4 promotional photo shoot included all of the regular cast, plus Daniel, Claire and Torrey. While the Season 3 promotional photo shoot was beautiful and fantastic with Ian, Nina, Paul and Joseph, I am glad to see that this year everyone will be included. :)

Even though I have complained about some of the writing in Season three and truly wish it would have been different, overall I did enjoy last season. I am stoked for Season 4 and cannot wait for October 11th. The Vampire Diaries is still one of my favorite shows. :)

The real problem I had with ubervamp Ric was that he was so quickly defeated just like Mikael. I would’ve liked to see them extend his role at least into the first few eps of season 4 or have him flee town and come back later in season 4. I would’ve liked him going out with a bigger bang.

That is why Klaus loves him so much. I think Klaus called him brother. It is really a love between the two of them and if done properly could lead to Klaus’ redemption. Stefan wants to keep the essence of the ripper personality for season 4 therefore, I think it is possible.

I really thought that they find someway to restrain him using a spell. Then Bonnie would work her magic to undo the spell that Esther had cast on him. I really hate that they killed him out of the series. It would have been much better to have killed one of the minor characters like Sheriff Forbes or Mayor Lockwood. Alaric was such a part of what made the show great. He will be missed.

That’s another thing that irks me, Bonnie can transfer Klaus into Tyler’s body from 100 miles away but, she wasn’t strong enough to subdue Alaric.

Maybe he felt closer to him than with Elijah because they’re so much aliked he didn’t compete with Stef for Tatia like he did with Elijah.

Did I miss something? You said Stefan wants to keep the essence of the ripper personality. Did you mean IF he does or did you hear that somewhere. The Ripper personality is the one I prefer. He doesn’t have to be 100% Ripper but half way in between would be good.

Well we might at least see the mojo part again. If they do have him follow thru with revenge on Matt there goes even any remote chance of any of the gang giving him respect.

It sounds like poor Matt is about to be handed his pink slip if Damon is going after him. I really hope not but this is TVD and JP said nobody is safe. She even hinted that Elena might not choose to complete the transition in an earlier interview.

Hmmm something must have changed his mind. That’s the trouble you never know which to believe.

Seriously he won’t stand a chance against Damon or any vampire for that matter. It would seem strange though to save him at the end of season 3 just to turn around and kill him right away in season 4.

Elena not transitioning sounds like her usual teases. KW already said she is for sure going to transition. They’ll probably at some point either killer off and bring her back like they did in the books or they’ll get Bonnie to crack open Esther’s human spell. I don’t see her being a vamp until series end. If they don’t have her transition then they have a show without a heroine.

I just finished rewatching season 1. You know when you haven’t watched something in a while you forget all the details. In the finale when he was on the Gilbert porch talking to Katherine thinking it was Elena, it was truly sad to hear him say she saw something in him worth saving implying no one had before. It’s what you see in real people where they choose someone unconsciously to love that you know will never love you back because you think that if you could just win their love then you would be a worthy person. All of it originally stemming from a parents rejection. He chose Katherine and he chose Elena neither of whom will give him the love he wants which keeps proving in his mind that his father was right that he was no good. So sad. That’s why he tolerates the emotional abuse.

Also a nice foreshadowing moment where he says he found himself wanting to save the town instead of destroy it. He said he wasn’t the hero type that it was Stefan’s job. To see how untrue that ended up being was a nice example of creating a plan for a character then following thru with it.

He needs to but, he’s mad at her too. LOL Poor Matty it looks like he’s gonna need his rifle.

That makes sense why he accepts what others think about him and how they treat him.

Damon is such a complex character with deep seated emotions. But, the thing that is amazing to me about him is, even when he has his humanity switched off, he’s so compassionate to those that do not cross him or the ones he cares about.

Damon, wears his heart on his sleeve and Stefan knows this but tries to pretend that he can’t see the goodness in his brother and is always suspicious of his every move. Only a person that has deep dark secrets act in this manner.

Damon probably acted out a lot as a kid because he could do no right in his father’s eyes. Abused children act in this manner and they don’t like getting close because of the possibility of rejection and pain.

So yes, I totally agree with you. And it would really be nice to see Damon’s story. It won’t be nice but, I think it will explain his complexity.

It’s not likely we’ll see his story since the story is told from his brother’s perspective. The ep where we were supposed to see more about him ended up being a bust.

As you mentioned his protective walls went up a long time ago. What makes Elena’s rejections hard to watch is that he exposed his feelings to someone he cared about only to have them thrown back at him proving it isn’t worth showing what’s really inside.

Damon’s past abuse will probably allow him to accept Elena. People that have been abused have no clue about self-worth and no self-esteem. This aspect of Damon’s past is being exploited and this character is not being shown any compassion or mercy. Through Damon’s inability feel pride and value within himself, I can she how Elena could be slithered into his life.

The Gilbert house was up for sale a while back too, I don’t know if that means it won’t be able to be used anymore but JP once tweeted something that made it sound like it might not be. I hope not, good things happened on that porch :D

The Gilbert house is on the market to be sold, but the Klaus mansion is now bank owned. For now, the owners of the Gilbert house are still allowing filming to go on. The Gilbert house is being marketed as being used by TVD. Once it is sold, it is very possible the new owners will allow filming to continue on the front porch. Keep in mind all filming at the Gilbert house takes place outside. All interior filming takes place at the studios in Decatur, GA. However, the now foreclosed bank owned Holyfield mansion was used inside and out for the filming of the Klaus mansion. That could present a problem.

If “my” Damon is coming after Matt, no amount of vervain will help him. Remember Damon is drinking vervain in his booze. LOL Nope, he needs an eternity ring. Maybe an implanted eternity ring. Remember (S1E1) the fight with Stefan when Damon took Stefan ring off mid flight.

LOL. Good point. A mere mortal such as Matt up against a vamp especially one with revenge on the brain does not have a promising outcome. Watch they’ll have Bonnie put a protection spell on him or something making him magically untouchable by Damon. Hahah.

You know I was reading some more fan fiction and these fans come up with good stories. Pretty good for not being professionals.

Let’s not forget sexiness. Ok that’s still there as long as Ian still plays Damon. ;) hopefully everyone has regrouped over the summer and they can get back on track. The ratings will be there as long as the quality of the stories are whether people get their couple or not. Here’s hoping for real vampire stuff and less depression.
