THIS POST IS A STICKY. KEEP SCROLLING FOR NEW POSTS.
Place your bets now – how much more dangerous are masquerade balls likely to be in New Orleans than they are in Mystic Falls? On the one hand, they do have snakes, aerial silks, and other accidents waiting to happen, on the other… not so many teenage-sized snacks confined in one tempting place.

Joseph Morgan recently spoke with TV Guide about the battle – or game – between Klaus and his former protege:
“It’s going to be harder to pull the wool over Marcel’s eyes, but that’s what makes it interesting because there’s this game between the two of them,” Morgan says. “They really don’t trust each other, and they’re really sussing each other up. But there are still moments where the cards are laid on the table and then they go back to playing the game. Klaus is going to have to constantly understand that Marcel does know what’s going on and change accordingly.”
He also talks a bit about Klaus’s relationships with his siblings, so make sure you check out the whole thing!
Rebekah may have had some terrible luck with regards to dances in Mystic Falls, but it looks like the little shindig that Marcel is throwing is going to be making up for that in a big way. Head on over to Entertainment Weekly to view the exclusive clip of the Masquerade Ball, New Orleans style.

Previously on The Originals, the ladies served notice to New Orleans that they are every bit as big and bad as their male counterparts. Rebekah blew into town in a blaze of corpses and Hayley was completely done with being a passive observer in her own life. We learned a great deal more about Marcel’s background and his twisted history with the Original family, and we got our socks blown off by the young lady in the attic. All in all, it was a busy episode! Need a recap? Read on!
EPISODE RECAPS & REVIEWS:
Now that’s more like it. After last week’s exposition-heavy series premiere, House of the Rising Son struck a deft balance between insightful character moments, connecting the relationship dots, and kicking plot into overdrive. While Always and Forever hinted at the potential of The Originals, Tuesday night’s episode delivered on it. Rebekah’s arrival in New Orleans heralded more Mikaelson family drama and brought another player to the game currently twisting through the streets of the French Quarter. This show is officially on the road, folks. Get excited.
The Originals In Review: House of the Rising Son (EP102) – Time to Fight

A great TV show demands a strong ensemble, and a strong ensemble should function like the candy aisle at a gas station. In a word: OPTIONS.
The Originals “House of the Rising Son” Review: Sister Act Too
By Price Peterson, TV.com
The overriding question facing The Originals remains “Who is the main character of this show?”
By Rowan Kaiser, The A.V. Club
More of that, please! In a romp of an episode, the idea of ‘finding yourself’ at college is made fun as the gang unselfconsciously figures out how to be in a new era with unfamiliar surroundings and no de facto leader Stefan to guide them. What would a hero do, what would the reformed serial killer do? What’s the human thing to do and what kind of choices will make people treat you like you’re the frickin’ moonstone? With another great episode full of peppy dialogue, snark aplenty, and some unexpected heroics, season five is shaping up to be the fun year for us that Caroline wants so much at Whitmore.
