It’s been an excruciatingly long wait for a webclip for episode 9 of the Vampire Diaries, but the CW have finally posted up some Bonnie and Jeremy goodness from Katerina. Roll on Thursday!
Such a simple, innocent-looking title. Don’t be fooled, though, because Katherine’s out to prove she’s ahead of everyone in this little game of hers, and the rules have been thrown out of the window. Brace yourselves for some shocks, fair fans, because Plan B is full of them.
This week we have two more sets of the Vampire Diaries book series by L.J. Smith to give away, courtesy of ITV2. Four books in each pack (that’s all of the books so far – The Awakening through to Shadow Souls) with the TV series tie-in covers. Same deal as previous weeks – we’ll be awarding one prize pack to the person with the tweet about the episode we like the most (remember your #tvduk hashtag!) and another prize pack after Memory Lane airs to the winner of a trivia question based on the episode (no hashtag necessary). You must be a resident of the United Kingdom to enter – sorry international fans. You can follow us on Twitter at @tvdnews, and be sure to give @itv2 a follow while you’re at it.
Tune in to ITV2 at 9pm tonight to catch Plan B, or catch it again at 10pm on ITV2+1. Still need to catch up on last week’s episode? You can watch it on ITV Player, or download it in HQ from iTunes UK.
The nominations for the People’s Choice Awards 2011 have been announced, and the Vampire Diaries is up for Favourite TV Drama and Favourite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show, with Ian Somerhalder is up for Favourite TV Drama Actor. Get to it, Vampire Diaries fans, and vote by clicking those mouse buttons until your fingers have gone numb. Head on over to the People’s Choice Awards website to start voting. The winners will be announced on January 5th, 2011.

MTV Hollywood Crush caught up with Nina Dobrev during her recent publicity spree in New York City. In this installment of their interview, Nina chats about a budding new romance that may come as a surprise to Elena once she notices what exactly is going on…
Popeater talks with Katerina Graham about Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries, Bonnie, and making art.
What’s ahead for Bonnie?
I can’t really say. I can say that Bonnie is really standing up for herself … and I’m really happy about it. She’s becoming a lot more empowered and stronger and not letting everyone walk all over her, which is awesome.
And Zap2It‘s Carina MacKenzie speculates on what’s in store for Tyler as The Vampire Diaries heads towards the Marcos Siega-directed episode 211. (We know it’s only for a visit, but welcome back, Mr. Siega!) Something to howl about? We think so.
If Trevino’s performance in this episode is half as good as his recent work, I’m sure it’s going to be quite a ride. Tyler isn’t exactly a talker, but Trevino manages to make even his quietest scenes powerful and often painful.
The winner is: Sara Haugen. Congratulations!
Thanks to the nice folks over at Pressman Toy, we have a cool giveaway for you guys: The Vampire Diaries Board Game!
The Vampire Diaries board game brings players to Mystic Falls with unique game pieces that transform the show’s characters into vampires. In this action-packed game, players take the role of Elena, Stefan, Damon or Caroline and move around the game board trying to be the last person left who’s not a vampire.
We’re not sure what new dangers lurk here, but we do know you can order the board game on Amazon.
And we have one game to give away to one lucky U.S. fan! (Sorry, non-U.S. fans, we’ll make it up to you, we promise.) All you need to do to enter is fill out the form below (one entry per person!) and we will randomly choose a winner. Deadline for entries is Thursday, November 11th, 11:59 EST. We will announce the winner on Monday, November 15th.
CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.
Hot Topic has posted their video coverage of the Vampire Diaries Hot Topic Cast Tour in Miami (with Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley) a few weeks ago, featuring lots of interviews with Vampire Diaries fans and the guys of Sounds Under Radio (thanks for the heads up on the video, guys!).
SPOILER ALERT: If you have not yet read Stefan’s Diaries: Origins but plan to, bookmark this page and come back when you’re done to read and comment. If you, like me, have already finished or don’t plan on reading it at all, continue on!
Completely devoured the new Vampire Diaries book. This latest, called Stefan’s Diaries, Vol. 1: Origins, is not a continuation of the original series but based entirely on the CW show (which was based on the original series). Don’t get dizzy. It makes complete sense. What’s funny about it (to me) is that no actual author is listed. It simply states “Based on the novels by L.J. Smith and the TV series developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec.” Huh. Who knows? Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed it and didn’t put it down once except to tweet how much I was loving it. That said, let me address a few things I believe could have been done better…
Katherine may be a chronic manipulator but it turns out she wasn’t lying last week when she said Elena’s in danger. Getting kidnapped in the Lockwood driveway isn’t such a big deal when it turns out that she’s the key to the whole mysterious curse. Luckily for Elena, she’s one of the only characters on The Vampire Diaries who doesn’t struggle with being alone — she’s got more love and attention than a girl can handle, friends and family who are unfailingly loyal, and more than one handsome vampire who can’t think of a better reason to die than in saving her life.
Thanks to I Heart Vampire Diaries for the heads up on MTV’s video of Nina Dobrev’s appearance on The Seven (their daily pop culture show). Nina talks about pulling double-duty as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce and all of that kissing and stuff. (You know, stuff.)
Non-U.S. fans: You can watch the clip on YouTube.
If you’re still piecing together the bits of information Vampire Diaries gave you last night, you are not alone. We haven’t seen this much post-ep discussion since The Return. Rose had 3.63 million viewers last night. From TV By the Numbers:
Both The Vampire Diaries and Nikita were down 0.1 with adults 18-49 vs. last week’s finals. The Vampire Diaries was also down 0.1 with women 18-34 to a 2.5 rating…
