This Canadian promo for “162 Candles” is very different to the USA version – could be an entirely different episode based on trailers alone. Gotta love the creep factor with that music in the background.

Promo for “162 Candles” for you all to ponder upon. Only one week to go. Should be a breeze after a two week wait for our Vampire Diaries fix, right? ;)

Vampire Diaries is moving into Melrose Place‘s Wednesday night encore spot, effective immediately. On Wednesday at 9/8c, you’ll have the chance to catch the previous week’s episode the night before the new one airs, and it all starts October 28th with a re-airing of Lost Girls. According to the Futon Critic, only Lost Girls, Haunted (November 4th), and 162 Candles (November 11th) are currently scheduled repeats. The CW has not announced what they plan to do once November sweeps are over, but enjoy it while it lasts, we say.
And on October 27th (tomorrow night!), the 2009 SCREAM Awards – filmed October 17th at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles – airs on SpikeTV, 10pm ET. Don’t miss Paul, Nina, and Ian (maybe we’ll catch a glimpse of Kayla during the broadcast, too?) presenting Best TV Show during the (unconventional) ceremony.

We’ve got stills from episode eight of the Vampire Diaries, “162 Candles” up in the gallery. Not really helping with the withdrawal, we have to admit. ;)
There’s also another one from “Haunted” of Elena and Vicki (first thumbnail above) via Entertainment Weekly, along with an article discussing the episode (thanks, @Joselito4390!):
“The school does an awesome haunted house Halloween party, where the parking lot is decorated and the whole interior hallway of the school is this cool, creepy haunted house,” Plec tells EW. “And all the action of the episode culminates there when you’ve got people in vampire costumes running around. You’ve got monsters and demons and, as everything with Vicki comes to a head, as she fights off her urges to feed, we’re in this haunted house and we’re at this Halloween party, and the s— hits the fan, as they say.”
Read the entire article at the EW website.

Thanks to Fan Forum: Ian Somerhalder for the heads up on this super-brief video of Ian and Paul Wesley on the SCREAM Awards red (well, checkered) carpet:
Thanks to @LilMissX we’ve got our first look at Lexi, as played by Arielle Kebbel, who will be appearing in the eighth episode of The Vampire Diaries, 162 Candles. We’re not sure that Matt will be entirely pleased to find out his pool table has been hijacked…

Finally, apologies for the downtime earlier. Our hosts implemented some fixes to help reduce server load, only accidentally missed a few files they were supposed to unlock again when they were done. This resulted in ’403 Forbidden’ errors making an unwelcome appearance across the site. As soon as the fault was reported, they got it fixed quickly (they’re awesome like that), and everything should be working smoothly again. Please let us know if you encounter any problems.

VDW has some nice images from the SCREAM Awards red carpet. Click the photo below to see a much larger version on their site, along with some solo shots of Nina and Kayla. According to Nina, she, Paul, and Ian were presenting Best TV Show tonight – and you can watch the big show yourself on Tuesday, October 27th at 10 p.m. ET on SpikeTV.

You can see more unwatermarked photos over at VDW or more photos at Getty Images. (Thanks to @Joselito4390!) UPDATE: Check out another red carpet candid of Paul, Nina, and Ian with @dishofsalt.
UPDATE2: Ian, Nina, and Paul onstage. Also, Robsten Lovers has some snapshots of Ian, Nina, and Kayla on the red carpet, with the promise of video to come.

We’ve added the official CW synopsis for episode 8, 162 Candles, to the Episode Index. Looks like Caroline had some wrong information – Stefan’s not a Gemini after all. As we blogged a few weeks ago, the ep is written by Barbie Kligman and Gabrielle Stanton and directed by Rick Bota.
