Way back in November, during the mid-season hiatus, we asked you to pick your favorite episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season 3 (so far). There were only nine episodes to pick from (Homecoming, Ordinary People and The Reckoning took top honors), so we think it’s finally time to look back at the season as a whole. Pick your THREE favorite episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season 3 and leave a comment to tell us why your favorites reign.
Wigs! Silly hats! Murder! Mystery! Mayhem! That can mean only one thing: flashback time! Head back through Stefan and Damon’s wibbly wobbly timey wimey memories to 1912, when things were very different in Mystic Falls. Back in the present day, Alaric’s in hot water, and Matt and Elena buddy up to get into trouble of their own while helping him out.
ITV2 will be displaying the Twitter #TVDUK hashtag during the episode, and will also be reading out the best or funniest tweet using the hashtag over the end credits. Be sure to tweet your reactions, and make sure you’re following @ITV2 for some entertaining keyboard mashing while you’re at it. As always, you can also follow us on @tvdnews.
So, want to whet your appetites? We’ve got some teasers for you, as well as some links to check out after the episode.

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, Stefan’s journals made an appearance, Rebekah crashed boys night and we can all agree now that Mystic Falls has never, ever been a safe place to live, no matter what year you look at. This episode had some great moments (one word: PIANO!) and it’s definitely worth revisiting before it’s time to Break On Through (EP317) tomorrow.
Ian Somerhalder took some time recently to chat with the nice folks over at Elvis Duran & The Morning Show. He talks about hiatuses, faux booze, flashbacks and all kinds of other things. Ian himself is a little quiet, so you’ll want to be ready to adjust your volume up and down as needed. Thank you Vampire Diaries Online for the heads up!
The Vampire Diaries has returned with a sepia trip back through time. It’s actually a double dose of nostalgia: for the brothers Salvatore, a reminiscence of Mystic Falls in 1912, and for us viewers at home, many call backs to past episodes — crow in a cemetery and all.
Last weekend’s Vampire Diaries panel audience at PaleyFest were treated to an advance screening of last night’s new episode, 1912 (EP316), and Julie Plec and cast hit the stage immediately afterwards to discuss the revelations and repercussions as we head into the final episodes of Season 3.
Be warned: Every one of these discussion panel recaps is spoilerific, so steer clear if you haven’t watched 1912 yet.
