(Love you, Matt Davis
Almost wrote that as haiku
Wait, we just did, huh?)
Grab and strategically place your pillows, Vampire Diaries fans – Mystic Falls is auctioning off its eligible bachelors (again!) tonight at 8/7c on the CW. This is a rough one for Alaric Saltzman, but then it’s a rough one for Elena, too. Actually, come to think of it, this episode is rough on everyone; there’s rejection, manipulation, exploitation, and perforation to spare. Oh, and a plumber. Can’t forget the plumber. So tune in for A Few Good Men and have your anticipation for the Sept. 9th Season 2 premiere, The Return, resurrected…again.

You knew it was only a matter of time, right? We love our polls and this one’s big: Narrow down your favorite Vampire Diaries: Season One episodes to your TOP THREE. (I can do four, so I’m sweating a bit.) Which episodes made you yell at your television with joy or frustration? Challenged or solidified your allegiances? Turned your character perspective upside down? Which episodes left you with an emotional hangover the next day and had you dissecting it, minute by minute, scene by scene, in blog post comments or in forums? Which three episodes reel you back in, over and over again?
For the first time, we’re going multiple choice. Check your three favorite episodes and see where your fellow fans land. And if you’re so inclined, let us know how and why you settled on your picks.

First up, Mystic Falls’ hottest teacher and eligible bachelor, Alaric Saltzman, is on Twitter. Zach Roerig posted to let the cat out of the bag that Matt Davis can be found at @ErnestoRiley. Everyone pay him a warm welcome and see if we can’t entice him to tweet more.
We’ve got a few miscellaneous – and pretty! – Vampire Diaries images that have been sent our way today, so we thought it would be easiest to throw them all together in the same post.

Inspire Magazine caught up with Zach Roerig to ask him a few questions about Matt Donovan and the Vampire Diaries:
Vampire Diaries has been getting a huge buzz with young adults, what did you expect from the audiences when first landing the role of Matt?
“I really didn’t know what to expect to be honest. Our demographic is a pretty honest bunch, so I knew that if they hated me, I would find out pretty quickly. Luckily that did not end up being the case.”

VampireDiaries.se have uploaded the audio message that fans can hear if they call up the number Elena dialled in “A Few Good Men” on Thursday. You can hear both Stefan and Damon making a snipe at each other. Aaah, sibling rivalry.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Stephen Martines (who will be playing a vampire named Frederick in an upcoming episode) was unable to make it for the interview with Stardish Radio earlier this month. They’ve rescheduled, and you can now tune in for the interview on March 31 at 9pm EST.

The CW have posted up the extended promo for episode 16 of the Vampire Diaries, “There Goes the Neighborhood”:
Around 3.3 million viewers tuned in to watch “A Few Good Men” last night. TV by the Numbers has more details:
Returning with new episodes, the CW’s Vampire Diaries scored a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating, that’s the same as its last new episode (2/11). Vampire Diaries was down 8% to a 2.2 rating in the CW target women 18-34 demo.
For those of you who missed it in North America & the UK, you can watch it online:
USA: Download from Amazon for $1.99
Canada: Watch the episode on the CTV website
UK: Download from iTunes for £1.89
Finally, SELF caught up with Katerina Graham to chat about Bonnie, the Vampire Diaries books and the supernatural:
Your character is one of the most powerful–no pun intended–on the show (sorry, Nina!). Tell us about Bonnie.
I love Bonnie because I like a character that evolves and grows and comes into her own. I love that she was really just kind of a quiet girl from the beginning who hung out with her gran and had the same best friends since the sandbox. She’s just a simple girl from a simple town, and she’s evolved. She’s strong and she is making her own decisions for herself, she’s not letting herself get steamrolled over. I love playing a strong female character. I’m all about that in my life, empowerment and feeling good about who you are and accepting who you are. I love that that parallels with Bonnie’s storyline of accepting that she’s a witch, accepting what she’s capable of, having the responsibility of that. I love playing someone like that that has conviction and passion. I’m all about that.

PROMO FOR THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD
COMPLETE SONGLIST FOR A FEW GOOD MEN
The hiatus is over, a brand new episode is about to hit your screens, and Melinda Clarke is about to make her grand entrance as Matt’s wayward mama, Kelly Donovan. We wonder if it’s a coincidence she’s back in town just as they’re about to hold a bachelor auction – did she get whiff of the scent of hot guys from 100 miles away? And as Damon is bachelor #5, that means there are more eligible bachelors lurking in Mystic Falls than just he and Alaric for Kelly to sink her claws into. Are you all psyched and ready? You’d better be, because this episode isn’t going to pull its punches!
Also, don’t forget about the phone number Elena dials that will be flashing on your screens during the episode – give it a call (ask the bill payer first!) to get a special Vampire Diaries teaser message! Update: The number to call is (919) 399-2507, just be aware that it’s getting slammed at the moment and you may not get through. Just be patient and wait a while.
Watch and then swing by here to rate the new episode of The Vampire Diaries. Spoilers are welcome in the comments, though if you want some more in-depth discussion then head on over to the forums! (You’ll need to register, but it takes two seconds.)
Quick guide to the poll options: Every auction needs a decent gavel to make it all official. 5 gavels = LOVE. 1 gavel = MEH.

Oh, yes, that’s right – we’re breaking out the Alaric icon. Guess what, Vampire Diaries fans? The hell-atus is officially over tonight at 8/7c, aka when A Few Good Men resurrects your Thursdays on the moving picture box. This is a big episode for a lot of our favorite Mystic Falls residents, as Julie Plec hinted at on Twitter yesterday. As I posted a week and a half ago, this episode is most certainly worth the wait, with new questions and general WTFery in abundance and, of course, the debut of the fabulous Melinda Clarke as wayward mom Kelly Donovan (not to mention some goings-on with the new vampire in town). You may think you know what’s going to happen (thanks to our forum posters for all the interesting theories!) but you’re in for some surprises.
LAST CHANCE to…

And here’s a round-up of some tidbits (and link love) to a few stories that slipped through the cracks of our (extremely busy) week:
The Toronto Sun interviews Ian Somerhalder about Damon, Stefan, Elena, Katherine, and Robert Pattinson:
“You start to understand why and how the brothers became vampires, how that whole thing went down, which paints a picture of how you view Stefan and Damon, collectively and individually,” Somerhalder said.

William Keck over at TV Guide Magazine is reporting that there’s a bit of interactive fan fun to be had during this week’s episode of the Vampire Diaries. At some point during “A Few Good Men”, Elena will be seen dialling a number. Call that number, and you’ll hear a special teaser message and be able to leave a message of your own. Though remember to get the bill payer’s permission before you go wild trying it out – standard long-distance call fees apply, and you really don’t want to be on the receiving end of the parental lashout over a huge phone bill. I speak from experience. O_O
Fans can also participate in a couple of contests that various sites are holding in order to be in with a chance of winning some Vampire Diaries goodies. JSKY readers can phone in on the 25th to win signed posters, t-shirts and bumper stickers. They’ll post the number up on the night, so check back at JSYK for details. Yahoo! TV are giving fans a chance to win similar prizes in a Twitter giveaway (you’ll need to be following @YahooTV), and don’t forget that there’s an ongoing contest over at the official Vampire Diaries book website to win books and t-shirts.
Speaking of contests, congrats to the winner of our final ‘hiatuses suck’ Twitter giveaway, @AlyseKeat! Only two days left until the new episode now, so no more contests for the moment. Keep an eye out, though, as we’ll certainly have more in the future.
