Hey, UK fans! Malese Jow has been confirmed via Twitter that she will appear at Insurgence 4, a convention taking place June 22-24 in Birmingham, UK. Ian Somerhalder, Daniel Gillies, Steven R. Malese Jow and Kayla Ewell had some things to say to TV Guide about this week’s ghostly episode. Jeremy’s late loves have been causing a lot of chaos recently, but the actresses maintain that neither ghost is trying to be evil.
Upon their arrival as ghosts, Anna warned Jeremy that Vicki was surrounded by darkness. As Jow points out, “If people were gray about it before, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ made it black and white. Vicki had ulterior motives that weren’t very good.” But Ewell begs to differ. “Vicki has the best intentions, but doesn’t always handle them correctly,” she says. “It comes down to the fact that any of us would do anything to survive and if your life has been taken away and you get another chance at it, then you’re going to pretty much do anything,” she says.

IGN‘s Eric Goldman caught up with Kat Graham last month to discuss Bonnie’s super witch-powered badassery at the end of Season 2 and hints that Bonnie may be a bit blindsided by what’s going on with Jeremy and the return of Vicki and Anna in Season 3.
IGN: What is Bonnie up to as the season opens?
Graham: I can’t really say, because I know that’s what everyone’s kind of waiting on and I really want it to be a surprise for the fans. But I will say that she really thinks everything is where it left off, I will say that. So any new revelations or anything, she’s completely unaware of.

In E!Online Watch With Kristin‘s Spoiler Chat this week, we learn a little more about how much we’ll be seeing Anna and Vicki this season:
Also hearing Malese Jow (Anna) and Kayla Ewell (Vicki) will be in about a handful of episodes (somewhere around six) and they will be recurring throughout the season. So you’ll get some fun “dead chick” splashes there for a while, but they won’t be around enough to muck things up with Bonnie. Win-win-win.

Mystic Falls sure does have a lot of complicated sibling relationships! Living, undead, frequently-revived or ghostly, it seems all the brother/sister teams have a lot of issues to work out. Hollywood Crush interviewed Kayla Ewell recently, and from the sound of it Vicki’s spirit is as restless as ever.
“Did death reform her? Of course it did. But it didn’t change her completely,” Kayla said. “I’m still going to be a little bit of the trouble-maker, and I kind of just don’t know any other way to be.”
Hollywood Life and Wetpaint also interviewed Kayla, and she talks about her recent work on The Glades as well as offers up some fun facts about how the Vampire Diaries Team put together the Donovan family photo album.
They asked Zach and I if we had any photos of when we were little, like Christmastime and stuff like that, and they’re going to use those pictures of us.
Okay, pictures of Matt Donovan as a little boy? It’ll be the awwww heard round the world.

Ghosts, witches and thwarted romance, oh my! In addition to this tidbit about the Salvatore brothers in Season 3, TV Guide recently talked to Kayla Ewell, and they’ve got some great info for us about what’s going on with Jeremy’s pair of ghostly girlfriends, and what their real agenda is in Mystic Falls.
Vicki and Anna may have been together in their shocking return to Vampire Diaries, but when the show returns for Season 3, they’ll be anything but united.
“Vicki has a master plan and it’s trying to be stopped by Anna,” Kayla Ewell, who plays Vicki Donovan, tells TVGuide.com. “A lot of what Anna says is, ‘Beware of Vicki, be careful.’”
Looks like we could be in for some beyond-the-grave catfights! Kayla goes on to talk a little about Vicki’s motivations, how long the ghosts might stick around and what a ghost has to do to get her little brother’s attention. We love you, TV Guide!

The clock is ticking down to the Vampire Diaries Season 3 premiere and, lucky for us, Executive Producer Julie Plec is opening up about what we can expect when the show returns on Thursday, September 15th. In addition to plenty of drama involving Jeremy, Bonnie, back-from-the-dead Vicki and Anna, Elena and Salvatore complications, Caroline and Tyler, and whether Daniel Gillies will return this season as Elijah (was there ever any doubt?), Julie tells TV Guide’s Robyn Ross that they have a lot of planned for the so-called “Year of the Originals”:
You dubbed Season 3 “The Year of the Originals.”
Plec: In the beginning, we’ll catch nice glimpses in flashbacks of a time when Stefan was a true ripper. We’ll get to see what that was like and how he got this reputation that Klaus has been holding on to because Klaus wants Stefan to be his wingman. Then, once we get into our second chapter in mid-fall-early winter, that’s when we’re really going to be digging deeply into the history of the original family and go all the way back in flashbacks to the year 1000 approximately. We’re going to tell their origin story, see where and who Klaus comes from, why he is the way he is and why he so desperately needs some therapy or a hug.

The last image we were left with at the end of season 2 was of Jeremy coming face to face with the ghosts of girlfriends past; Anna and Vicki. The potential impact this will have on Jeremy and his relationship with Bonnie in season 3 is quite staggering, and in typical Vampire Diaries style, they’re going to be keeping us guessing for a good few episodes. Mandi Bierly over at Entertainment Weekly has the scoop.
“When we come back to see him at the beginning of the season, we’ll see that he still hasn’t had any success figuring out what it is that they want, or understanding even what it is that they are,” exec producer Julie Plec tells EW. “We’ll see that maybe he’s been keeping this a secret, that nobody else is aware of what he’s been going through, and that his behavior has changed quite a bit and people are starting to wonder if he’s perhaps getting back into some old bad habits. When in reality, he’s just trying to figure out why the hell he’s being haunted by his dead girlfriends.”
