Earlier today, Michael Trevino tweeted that he was listed on the Dragon*Con guest list in error:
“For those asking, I was never scheduled nor will I be at Dragon Con this weekend in ATL.”
We don’t know how he wound up on the official guest list, and we’re sorry to have passed along this misinformation. So far as we know, David Anders and Sara Canning are in fact scheduled to attend.
UPDATE: David Anders has also pulled out of the convention.

I’m in the process of writing my own review of the 2011 EyeCon Vampire Diaries Convention in Atlanta this past weekend (for now, let’s just say I was less than impressed with the con itself, but the fans were fabulous) [ETA: READ IT HERE] but we want to hear from you about your experience. If you attended the Con, please let us know your thoughts on the weekend – what you liked, what you didn’t like, what should be changed, etc.
This weekend is the long-awaited EyeCon Vampire Diaries Convention, March 25-27, when fans the world (!!!) over will converge on Atlanta, Georgia for two and a half days of TVD goodness. I (Vee) and our very own episode recapper/author Crissy Calhoun will be in attendance, holding down the fort at the ECW Press/Smart Pop Books booth in the EyeCon Vendors’ Room. We will be selling/signing our books: Love You To Death: The Unofficial Companion to The Vampire Diaries by Crissy Calhoun (ECW Press) and A Visitor’s Guide to Mystic Falls: Your Favorite Authors on The Vampire Diaries, edited by Red & myself (Smart Pop Books). We will also have lots of other titles from ECW and Smart Pop! Crissy and I would love to meet you, talk TVD with you (I’m especially obsessed with hearing your sacrifice theories at the moment, the more crazycakes, the better!), and sign your books (if you already have them, please bring them with you!). If you don’t come to our booth and talk to us, we’ll have to pass the time singing “Wuthering Heights” and doing an interpretive dance. No one wants that, so stop by and distract us with stunning conversation!
If you caught our interview on The VRO this past Wednesday (missed it? listen here!), you know we have some cool plans in store. In addition to Vampire-Diaries.net and Vampire Support teaming up to cover the big event (wi-fi/phone networks willing!) via our blogs and Twitter (make sure you follow @tvdnews and @VampireSupport), we’re also collaborating on what we’ve dubbed a “Fandom Photo Booth.” We want to showcase YOU, the fans in attendance. Check out Chloe’s video explaining the details:
We really hope you’ll stop by the “photo booth” and have a blast. We’re excited about TVD fans bringing their personalities and originality to this and can’t wait to feature the final results on the blog and in the Gallery.
As you may have heard by now, Vampire Support has landed an exclusive video interview with Ian Somerhalder about all things Ian Somerhalder Foundation – but that’s not the only TVD cast member Ms. Chloe will be chatting with this weekend. Michael Trevino has been awesome enough to grant a video interview as well and we’re going to be gathering fan questions for him. Stay tuned tomorrow for a post all about it and start getting creative!
In case you somehow didn’t hear the news from EyeCon or Lauren Cohan herself on Twitter: Due to landing the lead in a CW pilot (Heavenly) and filming in Vancouver this coming weekend, Lauren will not be attending the big shindig in Atlanta. Here’s the statement via EyeCon’s Facebook:
Update: Lauren Cohan will be filming in Vancouver for her new series “Heavenly” during our weekend. It’s so close to convention time that instead of crawling through the database to figure out her pre-sales, we’re going to drop a credit slip into any package that pre-purchased autographs/photo ops. That credit can be exchanged for cash back or any other item at registration. Thanks.
So that’s Lauren and Chris William Martin out, but Paul Wesley, Michael Trevino, Steven R. McQueen, Ian Somerhalder, and Rob Pralgo still on the roster. We are days away, folks!
If you don’t have your tickets for EyeCon’s Vampire Diaries convention in Atlanta, March 25-27, you really should remedy that because the guest list just keeps growing with awesome. Michael Trevino has officially been added to the convention line-up. He will join previously announced guests Paul Wesley, Steven R. McQueen, Chris William Martin, and Rob Pralgo for North America’s very first TVD convention. And, according to the nifty press release EyeCon just sent out:
Also announced is the launch of a fan made film/video contest. Fans will have the chance to showcase their creativity to the crowd and win amazing prizes. Guidelines for the video are as follows: the videos must be less than 10 minutes and must be original works set in The Vampire Diaries universe. The winners will be shown for the crowd at the convention!
Thanks to the @VampireSupport folks for the heads up on this super-exciting news: Steven R. McQueen is now officially confirmed as a guest for EyeCon’s Vampire Diaries Convention in Atlanta, March 25-27. He joins previously announced guests Paul Wesley, Rob Pralgo, and Chris William Martin. If you’re dragging your feet on purchasing tickets/reserving a hotel room, now is the time to get on it. You wanna say you were at the very first Vampire Diaries convention, right? Hope to see you there!
