You may have noticed already but Warner Bros. has set up a one-stop shop for all things Vampire Diaries on iTunes, featuring easy access to downloads for TV series episodes, music featured on the show, and TVD audio books. Be sure to check it out!
Happy Friday! HarperTeen has something pretty sweet for you – the first seven chapters of Origins, the first volume in Stefan’s Diaries, based on The Vampire Diaries TV show mythology – FOR FREE. The book will be released on November 2, 2010, and it will also be available on Kindle and audio book (narrated by Kevin T. Collins).
Interestingly, the book is from a first-person POV (Stefan’s, obviously), which may help distinguish it from the original Vampire Diaries book series for those who have been confused. We don’t want to give anything way, so click on the cover below to read for yourself!

Book news! Feels like ages since we last posted any about the book series, and to make up for that we have a whole load of new book covers from various countries for you to peruse.
First up, the cover for Nightfall in Brazil has been revealed, and the publishers, Galera Record, will also be releasing a rather nifty Vampire Diaries boxset containing books 1 – 4.
There isn’t a release date for either product yet, but we’ll let you know when we hear something. Update: Nightfall is due in October, and the boxset in November. Thanks, Isabella!
Have we mentioned lately how much we love Lorraine over at the L.J. Smith Cover Resource? She’s been working her cover voodoo and has come up trumps with all kinds of Vampire Diaries book cover goodies for us.
First up, to your left you will see the UK cover for The Return: Midnight (click on the image to view a larger version). This is the first cover we’ve seen anywhere for Midnight, and I’ve got to admit to a little bit of pride that the UK got in there first. While we may have a cover, we’re still seeing a range of dates for the publication date, from July of this year to November next year. As soon as we have something concrete, we’ll get it up on the website for you.
We’ve also got some more covers for other books in the series – from reprints to brand new publications in the UK, France, Germany and Japan. Read on to view all the new covers…
Not sure how this snuck past us, but looks like all four volumes of the original Vampire Diaries series – The Awakening, The Struggle, The Fury and Dark Reunion – were released on audio book on October 27th, with The Return: Nightfall following…today! All volumes are unabridged, narrated by actor Rebecca Mozo, and available for purchase on Audible.com or iTunes. You can find direct links for purchase below (Nightfall not yet available through iTunes). Check out the covers below or in the Gallery.
And Red would like you all to know – being of the British persuasion and all – that it’s been officially confirmed that ITV2 will begin airing The Vampire Diaries in the U.K. this January, rather than just a nebulous “2010.” Which he already figured, but now it’s all OFFICIAL and stuff, which means he can now sip his cuppa and stop making snooty comments. Huzzah!
