As if we haven’t been spoiled enough with DVD extras today – FearNet has another exclusive clip from the The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season special features. This clip has the cast and producers discussing the changes from and differences between the Vampire Diaries book series and the show.

Yahoo!TV’s has posted yet another exclusive clip from The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season DVD and this time the cast and producers discuss what sets the show apart as a television drama. Love this quote from Julie:

We always said in the pilot it’s a girl who feels dead inside and a boy who is dead inside and how they bring each other back to life.

Tonight was a big night for The Vampire Diaries – the show and cast racked up a more-than-impressive seven surfboards at tonight’s Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles, including: TV: Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show, TV: Breakout Show, TV: Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actress and TV: Female Breakout Star for Nina Dobrev, TV: Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actorand TV: Male Breakout Star for Paul Wesley, and TV: Villain for Ian Somerhalder. A HUGE CONGRATS to the cast, crew, and to YOU GUYS for putting them up on that stage. Well done, fandom!

You can watch the fun yourself this Monday night, August 9th, at 8/7c on FOX. Check out some photos from the blue carpet and the press room below and more in the Gallery. Nina, Paul, Ian, and Katerina Graham were also in attendance (as were executive producers Bob Levy and Julie Plec!).

The first has Julie talking about what Katherine may be doing now, Damon as hero?, Tyler’s future, when we can expect the werewolf element to surface (at the earliest), Matt/Caroline, and who’s going out on a double date?

And Kevin talks about what’s in store for Bonnie as we head towards the season finale.

There’s a lot of redundant stuff out there from PaleyFest, so I’m throwing the big ‘uns up now (most of which we’ve been retweeting on Twitter the past few days) and then I’ll add to this post with more linkage and fun stuff after I do my own write-up (which, honestly, I’m not going to tell you anything these people haven’t said, so expect something a bit more personal). We’ve been talking this event up here in the blog and on Twitter and now the big day has arrived: Members of the Vampire Diaries cast and creative team will be at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills this Saturday, March 6th at 7 p.m., all in the name of PaleyFest 2010. The Paley Center’s annual television festival honors a select number of shows every year and we know Vampire Diaries fans are flying in from as far away as North Carolina (!) to catch the TVD panel.

According to Paley’s website, confirmed guests are Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Julie Plec, Kevin Williamson, and Bob Levy, and possibly more members of the cast/production team will be in attendance. (Will they let Barbie Kligman out of The Room for this, you think?) Events typically consist of an episode screening (or exclusive footage – not saying this will happen here), and then a Q&A with guests. UPDATE: Julie Plec tweeted this tantalizing tease late Thursday night. Make of it what you will. ;)

Think you’ll be in the Paley area? Tickets are still available! I’ll be there (as will a slew of the Vampire Diaries fansite network, including @CW_VampDiaries, @NinaDobrevFan, and @kryptonsite, and quite a few recappers/podcast folk) and tweeting live over at @tvdnews.
