Thanks to the lovely Andrea of Nina Dobrev Network for these: Nina was part of MTV’s 10 on Top countdown this morning, talking about the differences between Katherine and Elena and playing a fun game of Marry, Kiss, Kill.

And here are a few photos of Nina on tonight’s Gemini Awards red carpet. Click the images to view lots more in the NDN gallery.

Ratings are in for The Return (EP201) and it looks like an average of 3.4 million viewers tuned in to the Season 2 premiere last night. Via The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed:

Opening the night, “Vampire Diaries” (3.4 million viewers, 1.6 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) returned down 24% in the demo compared to its series opener last fall, though the drama was on par with its overall first season average. “Diaries” had its best women 18-34, The CW’s target, since last February.

While we may not know the UK airdate for the Vampire Diaries, we do at least know that UK fans get to watch the episode via iTunes after it airs in the USA. Canadian fans: CTV is saying new episodes of Vampire Diaries will be available for free viewing at Watch.CTV.ca but we don’t see the new episode posted yet.

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesAs many Canadian viewers have noticed, CTV has dropped Vampire Diaries from its main channel. Canada can now catch Vampire Diaries Season 2 on CTV’s A Channel (sadly, no HD), Thursdays at 8pm ET / PT and 9pm AT, as well as on MuchMusic, Fridays at 9pm ET/6pm PT (like last season). UPDATE: Thanks to @dusties for pointing out that the show can also be watched on Access where A Channel is not available.

As far as we know, CTV will still be streaming episodes on their website, but it’s not clear whether it will be available On Demand via digital cable. Thanks to Melissa at The Televixen for the insight!

Matt in the Vampire DiariesLast night’s awesome episode of the Vampire Diaries, “Fool Me Once”, racked up 3.55 million viewers. Honestly, we’re kind of surprised it wasn’t more, because website activity last night was rocking, with the poll attracting a lot of voters and the forums seeing a lot of action (the thread for “Fool Me Once” looks like it’s going to be our most active episode discussion thread yet!). Anyhow, 3.55 million is the number reported, and that’s still excellent. From TV by the Numbers:

CW’s Vampire Diaries was down a bit and saw lows with adults 18-49 and even with Women 18-34 it was on the low side (perhaps a series low with a 2.4 W18-34 rating).

Speaking of people viewing the episode, “Fool Me Once” is now available to watch online from the following sources:
Canadian Fans: Watch for free on CTV
USA Fans: Purchase from Amazon
UK Fans: Purchase from iTunes

The Hollywood Reporter has some new Vampire Diaries casting news. Stephen Martines (The Closer, The Guiding Light, General Hospital) will play a vampire by the name of Frederick who was one of the vampires in locked up in the tomb. Looks like he’s set to cause trouble in Mystic Falls, and we’re not sure that Alaric will take kindly to another guy in town going by the name of ‘Rick’. ;)

The CW have a nice new Vampire Diaries feature on their website, displaying how all the characters connect to each other. Click on the characters to find out more information, a long with a few video interviews with the actors talking about their characters. So far there are videos with Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder.

The Steven R. McQueen fans in the house are starting to get pretty vocal lately, so we’re sure they’ll all love Seventeen.com’s 17 Questions article, where you can find out about Steven’s first kiss, guilty pleasures, dream jobs, and how much cash he has in his wallet.

Finally, tomorrow is the final Hot Topic Cast Tour stop in Los Angeles. Sadly, wristbands for the signing are sold out but the Q&A is open to the public. So head on down to Westfield Topanga for 4pm to catch the cast and hang out with your fellow Vampire Diaries fans. We also suggest investing in some earplugs. The last two events were loud. ;)

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesCTV’s eTalk has a segment featuring sitdowns with Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Zach Roerig, and Sara Canning about the recent Hot Topic cast tour stop in Atlanta. The cast discusses how the event was their first real taste of the Vampire Diaries’ success, and Nina and Sara wave their “team” flags when it comes to Stefan and Damon. (There’s also a brief segment with Nina near the end of the video about health and yoga.) Watch the interviews over at CTV.

You know, speaking of Canada… Why is it that this fine country has loaned us Nina and Sara, yet no cast appearances yet? Who do Canadian fans have to talk to?

Speaking of Ms. Canning, she will be following in the footsteps of Michael Trevino and Zach Roerig with a guest stint on The VRO. No set date yet, but you can post questions on The VRO’s board, @ them to @TheVRO on Twitter, or email them to Amy at amymccracken [at] thevro [dot] com.

And finally, Inside Halton has an interview with recent guest star Dillon Casey (Noah) in which he discusses his stint on The Vampire Diaries.

“Vampire Diaries is a very successful show so the whole cast and crew are very confident and know what they want. It’s never easy coming on to a show halfway in as a guest star because you feel like everybody’s waiting for you to do something incredible to show why you got cast — but they were all nice people and made me feel very comfortable, so that feeling didn’t last long.”

Read the entire interview at Inside Halton.
