TV Guide also has a piece about the CW’s femme fatales that has some nice things to say about Candice Accola’s portrayal of Caroline:

“TVD’s Candice Accolla [sic], with her blonde brightness and scratchy-sweet voice, has stolen and broken our hearts so many times since Caroline was turned into a bloodsucker that we’re torn between rooting for her to find some kind of happiness and hoping that the writers continue to torment her.”

Joseph Morgan as KlausTerron Moore of Ology just had brunch with Joseph Morgan, Zach Roerig, and Ian Somerhalder and got a nice serving of inside information, jokes, and TVD analogies to everyone from Batman to Yogi Bear to Kublai Khan. Warning: Spoilers through The Ties That Bind (EP312)! On Klaus’s trust issues:

JOSEPH: I think that there’s potential for him to change, yes, but it’s going to be really difficult. Because as well as being selfish, he’s incredibly paranoid. He’s spent the last 1000 years maintaining this lie he’s told his siblings. He’s the product of a dysfunctional family, having this horrible relationship with his father, being a bastard child, not feeling accepted by the rest of his family… so I think he has real issues with trust…

IAN: I feel like Klaus is what happened with Rome, or like, Kublai Khan. He’s created this empire of deceit, and he has to keep it down to protect himself.

Plus, Assignment X recently caught up with Candice Accola and asked her about shipping, stunts, and more. On how her dance training has helped:

“By no means was I going to be a professional dancer, but I grew up taking dance classes down the street and that’s actually been the most helpful in the stunt work, counting out the steps and “five, six, seven, eight, and punch.” It is funny how those little things that you learned as a kid that you don’t think are going to translate, all of a sudden, as an adult, they help you out in your job. So that was something that I did physically when I was young.”

Candice Accola as CarolineEntertainment Weekly is in Atlanta on the Vampire Diaries set, and they’re getting all sorts of good scoop from the cast. (Warning: Lots of spoilers through The Ties That Bind (EP312)!) Joseph Morgan says, of the dinner party Klaus will throw in Bringing Out the Dead (EP313):

“This is going to be interesting because there’s all of that feeling, all of that tension from all of the fights and manipulation and history that’s been going on between these guys sitting around the dinner table. It’s like a game of poker.”

Intriguing! And they have a great video with Candice Accola in which she discusses Caroline’s reactions to recent events – including her new potential love interest and a “being” that is “creating a lot more turmoil than any viewer might think.” Plus: Ian Somerhalder on Damon’s odds of getting Elena – and who might have a better chance.

Candice Accola as CarolineWe’ve seen the pictures from Dangerous Liaisons (EP314) – and now Candice Accola tells E!Online‘s Tierney Bricker about the preparation that went into the episode:

“I’m really excited there’s an episode where there’s a ball. Everyone got to get all dressed up,” she says. “We took ball dancing lessons. It was really fun. I’m excited for people to see that episode for many more reasons besides the fact that we got to get dressed up, but I don’t want to give those reasons away. I’m just going to say because we got all dressed up, which is code for a lot of s–t goes down.”

Candice Accola as CarolineThe birthday girl is definitely making the rounds! We know Caroline won’t be in a birthday party mood during Our Town (EP311) tonight, but Sandra Gonzalez of Entertainment Weekly talked to Candice Accola about what comes next:

The next few episodes will find Caroline grappling with the reality that “normal” is a thing of the past, teases Accola. Luckily, as per usual, she bounces back quickly. “Caroline doesn’t stay depressed for too long, ever,” she says. “She bounced back pretty quickly from her father torturing her. But Caroline has become a strong young woman in her own right, so I don’t think she would let herself stay down too long. … She definitely doesn’t go all Ripper.”

Candice also gives some hints about a special birthday gift and whether she thinks Caroline will ever go dark.

XX We’re just a few hours away from Our Town (EP311), but the teases and hints are still rolling in. Give Me My Remote has a great interview with Julie Plec, who talks about some of the things we can expect to see in tonight’s episode. Unfortunately, anyone hoping for a glorious reconciliation between Caroline and Tyler may be disappointed, at least tonight.

Caroline and Tyler aren’t in a great place right now, and Tyler particularly is pretty much a pawn in Klaus’ game…
JP: Tyler’s not in a good place. Things are not going well for Tyler. Things are certainly not going well for Caroline and Tyler. And whether they get better, how they get better, and when they get better is to be seen.

Julie has lots more to say about the fallout from last week’s episode, READ THE REST OF THE INTERVIEW AT GIVE ME MY REMOTE.

Zap2it also spoke with Julie about tonight’s episode and Caroline’s role in it, and it doesn’t look like Caroline will be breaking the Mystic Falls ‘bummer birthday’ streak anytime soon.

“It’s the first time, I think, for her, that she’s looked at the big picture,” executive producer Julie Plec adds. “It’s kind of in tandem with the whole idea of senior year and what you’re supposed to be going through, looking ahead toward the future being wide open. She’s kind of realizing the sadness of ‘Oh, I’m always going to be 17. I’m never going to do the things I wanted to do.’”

It’s not all bad news, though! Candice Accola says that things won’t be all bad.

“There are some great girlfriend moments coming up, which I love, because last year I think everyone was so embroiled in their various love triangles that we didn’t really see that,” she says, “and I think it’s really important to have those moments.”

For more thoughts from both Candice and Julie, as well as a little hope for Team Matt, READ THE REST OF THE INTERVIEW AT ZAP2IT.

Candice Accola as CarolineHuffPost TV recently talked to Candice Accola about Caroline’s big birthday episode – Our Town (EP311), airing tonight! – and what the future holds for Caroline and the people (and vampires, and hybrids . . .) around her. About whether she thinks Tyler and Caroline are good for each other, Candice said:

“At this point, they both kind of feed into each other’s needs. Caroline is very much a fix-it person, and when she turned into a vampire, Stefan was kind of the one who guided her down the road of understanding what that meant and how to handle her supernatural abilities. She kind of got to be that person for Tyler, because he really needed someone in his life to guide him. So if you take that away from their relationship, is there actually a substantial relationship left? I think that’s what the viewers are going to start to find out in the next few weeks, whether there is or there isn’t.”

She also discusses Caroline’s relationships with Stefan, her parents, and her other friends.
