IMG DESCJust a few more hours to go! This is a great article from Xfinity, with a nice big dose of Daniel Gillies!

This Will Be the Season of the Originals: The show’s producers have declared that this will be the season of The Originals, the oldest vampires who are virtually impossible to kill. Gilles hints at what that means. “It’s going to present a whole other tier of activity. It’s going to be Shakespearean.” Kat Graham (Bonnie) explains what that will mean for the rest of the characters. “What I’m really excited about is the exploration of the characters, new and old, that were brought in, their powers, and where it all started from – more backstory of the actual show.”

Aol TV has also been chatting with the Vampire Diaries cast. Several members of the cast shared some thoughts, but I think the ever-adorable Candice Accola takes the cake (no, not that cake!) with her quote.

Candice Accola
On Caroline and Tyler: “They’re going to do lots of laundry — like, ‘oh, that shirt looks dirty, let me take it off of you,’ ‘oh, your dress is wrinkled, let me take it off for you…’ [laughs] We’re just teenagers being responsible!”

E!Online Behind the Scenes Peek at The Birthday (EP301) + AOL TV Chats with Ian SomerhalderE!Online has an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at filming of The Birthday (EP301) and some spoilery tidbits from Candice Accola, Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Kevin Williamson.

“Actually Elena’s birthday goes really well. Everyone gets along. There’s no drama. No! Of course not,” Accola tells us. “It’s the season premiere! Of course every thing goes crazy.”

And AOL TV‘s Maggie Furlong talks with Ian Somerhalder about Damon’s new, uncomfortable position in Season 3. Ian touches on Damon’s frame of mind:

So he’s not thrilled to finally have a shot with Elena?
No. I don’t think he ever saw being stuck in Mystic Falls, taking care of this young, beautiful creature he’s totally in love with … he is totally in love with this girl, but he can’t have her. A) She doesn’t want him, and B) it’s his brother’s girl. Even Damon’s not gonna stoop that low. So he’s thinking, alright, so she’s 18, right? She’s gonna live another 70 or 75 years, with modern medicine, so he’s thinking, “Sh*t man, I’m stuck in Mystic Falls for another three-quarters of a century, taking care of this girl that I can’t have.” That is not something that I think sits very well with him. He wants to take care of her, he wants her to be happy, he wants her to live a full, amazing life — but she wants Stefan back.

We’re closing our roundup this week with a special appeal from Daniel Gillies. His independent film Broken Kingdom needs some help to get it out into the wider world. If you’d like to learn more about the movie and the situation it’s in, watch the video below or click here for additional information. If you are able to donate to the cause, btw, make sure you send a tweet to @mrholymonster, so he can thank you. Good luck, Broken Kingdom! We hope to see you in theaters soon.
