TV Guide sat down with Candice Accola recently and asked her about the where things stand in the friendship between Caroline and Bonnie at this point in the season.
“Caroline and Bonnie are at a very strong place,” Accola says. “Last season there was a rough spot between Caroline and Bonnie being that when Caroline turned into a vampire it was everything that Bonnie was against, but Caroline has proven she’s a good friend.”
Candice also talks a little about Klaus and Caroline, and teases new trouble brewing in Mystic Falls. Spoiler warnings for All My Children (EP315).

KSiteTV attended yesterday’s press screening for Dangerous Liaisons (EP314) and has a write-up of the Julie Plec Q&A that took place after the episode viewing. She had some very interesting things to say about Matt, Jeremy, Tyler, Klaus, the triangle, the Originals, the Original Petrova, and the development of a surprising/not-so-surprising connection between two characters.
The whole character of Elijah – and I’ve said this before, but I can’t say it enough – has been such a glorious surprise to us as writers, because it’s really been as much of Daniel Gillies and what he’s brought to the character, that has fed into what we want to give to the character. So of course, when we decided that there needed to be a Big Bad Evil Vampire in the middle of last season, that paved the way to the introduction of Klaus, in a million years, never would we have said ‘Oh! And then one day he’ll have this magnificent and lovely friendship with Elena!’ You know? And yet, that has evolved over the course of a season and a half worth of stuff for Elijah and for Daniel. So we kind of like to watch it as it happens, more than we even like to lay the map for them, because they bring so much to it. And then we are able to play with that a little bit. Next week definitely is very much rooted in the foundation of this compassion that Elena has for Elijah.
READ THE ENTIRE Q&A AT KSITETV.
Entertainment Weekly was also at the screening and Julie Plec underscores that there are no mortal (or immortal) certainties in Mystic Falls:
“I don’t know that you can be that certain about the fate of anybody,” she said. “Many of our characters are going to come face to face with their maker before the season is over. The question of whether they meet, shake hands, and get dragged away with the maker is another question. There’s going to be a lot of moments where we’re not really sure who is really safe and who is going to see it through.”

And The Futon Critic has more from the TVD cast, including Candice Accola, who points out the quirks of working on a show with such a large cast:
Joking aside, the actress said that the large number of characters on the show makes moments when they finally come together really pop. “It is an odd thing with these wonderful, wonderful characters developed throughout the show and the series but because there are so many of us on set at once… even Caroline and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) have never been in a scene together, ever! There’s all these different characters whose paths don’t cross… “

Yesterday, members of the media were invited to a special screening of tonight’s new (and highly anticipated) episode of The Vampire Diaries: Dangerous Liaisons (EP314), and they’re hinting we can expect healthy doses of angst alongside those sharp tuxes and glittering ballgowns. Is anyone surprised? First up, members of the TVD cast – Zach Roerig, Candice Accola, Kat Graham, Nina Dobrev – tease what’s coming tonight and in future episodes in another E!Online set visit video.
As for the finished product, E!Online has this to tease (SPOILERS):
Elena shares some very intense moments with both Salvatore brothers, including a scene where one of the brothers drops three very important words. Fans of both couples should prepare for some major angst, including Elena hurting Damon and possibly causing the return of the old Damon. We won’t lie, we kind of missed him!
On a related note, Zap2It also teases the triangle and five other things about tonight’s episode (SPOILERS):
Elena is caught in a virtual tug-of-war throughout the episode (at one point, they literally each have her by the arm). The question, as always, is whether Stefan can find it in himself to care about Elena — and whether or not she still wants him to care about her at this point. That will pretty much be answered by the end of the hour. Per usual, Paul Wesley’s performance will give you goose bumps.
Julie Plec was on hand for a Q&A during the episode screening yesterday, and The Insider has this amusing tidbit to share:
When I asked her about the likelihood of non-Mystic Falls law enforcement agents ever coming to town (ya know, like if this mysterious stabber continues his/her reign of terror for much longer), Julie said, “Truth be told we’ve had the “FBI Agents Come to Town” pitch on the board since episode three of season one. As this thought that somebody, at some point, is going to have to come to this town and be like, ‘What the hell is going on here?!? Sheriff you’re fired!’”
And if you need even more photos from Dangerous Liaisons, Hollywood Life has a handful of exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from filming.

TVLine talked to Candice Accola about what’s coming up for Caroline in tonight’s big episode and beyond. On how Caroline will deal with the host of tonight’s formal ball:
“Caroline is definitely not viewing Klaus as the nice guy. She’s not like, “Ooh! He’s got an edge!” She knows he’s an extreme, evil killer. But at the same time, Caroline recognizes and learns from even just being around Katherine that… you can’t back down. You can’t show fear. You can’t allow yourself to be backed into a corner. You have to stand up and be strong.”
And where’s Tyler, anyway?
“He has gone to work on himself [and] to learn how he can not fall prey to [having been] sired so he can take control back over his life. It’s because of Klaus that Tyler even bit Caroline to begin with. In order to fight for her and fight for himself, he’s taking the time to learn how to not be controlled by Klaus.”
