Chris BrochuThanks to an E!Online exclusive, we have some exciting Vampire Diaries casting news. The show has cast Heather Hemmens (Hellcats) and Chris Brochu (Melissa and Joey) for appearances in the latter part of season five:

Hemmens, who recently appeared on Grey’s Anatomy will take on the role of Maggie, Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) love interest, while Brochu will play the fun and charming Luke, a student at Whitmore college who bonds with Elena (Nina Dobrev), Caroline (Candice Accola). But relax, Delena, Stelena, Klaroline and Forwood fans because there’s no chance for romance between Luke and one of the ladies as he’s gay. Aso, he has a secret agenda.

Brochu will first appear in the season’s sixteenth episode and Hemmens in the nineteenth.

Nathan ParsonsZap2it has exclusively confirmed that Australian actor Nathan Parsons has been cast as werewolf Jackson in a recurring role on The Originals. “He has the underlying ruggedness of a werewolf raised in the Bayou, but he’s magnetic, smart and strong-willed — the natural trusted leader of his pack.” Parsons will first appear in the February 4th episode.

Elyse LevesqueAccording to a TVLine exclusive, The Originals has cast Elyse Levesque (SGU, Cedar Cove) in the recurring role of Genevieve. “The seductive and deceptive Genevieve returns to New Orleans with a mysterious agenda and some unfinished business with Rebekah and Marcel.” She will first appear in episode 13.


And over at Zap2it, Daniella Pineda discusses Sophie’s future in relation to the Harvest, the other characters, potential love interests, and more.

“It is a really big blow. The elders are gone, but the elders have the access to all the major power,” Pineda says. “Even though Davina’s sucked up a great deal from The Harvest, the elders know what they’re doing, they know how to proceed. And my character was rather reluctant in the beginning, so it’s a huge blow. Nothing could be worse for the witches than right now. The only other option is who will become the next elder, and that takes time.”

Davina is getting a love interest! The powerful witch currently locked in Marcel’s attic will find some time for romance when Pretty Little Liars’ Shane Coffey guest stars, we can exclusively reveal. Unfortunately, Tim has a run-in with Klaus and that will probably go as well as you’d expect it to.

Michael MalarkeyAccording to a Deadline exclusive, actor Michael Malarkey (Raw) has been cast on season five of The Vampire Diaries in the recurring role of Enzo, “a charismatic but tortured figure from Damon’s past who arrives in Mystic Falls desperate to reconnect with his old friend.” He will first appear in the December 5th episode.

Alexandra MetzDeadline reports that actress Alexandra Metz (Chicago Fire) has been cast for an arc on season one of The Originals. “She plays Katie, a beautiful and mysterious witch with a hidden agenda that will have shocking ramifications for the supernatural community of New Orleans.” Alexandra previously tweeted about being on set, but we’re happy to see this confirmation of her role and information about her character.

Rick CosnettAccording to TV Guide, Australian actor Rick Cosnett (The New Inventors) has been cast on season five of The Vampire Diaries in the role of Dr. Wes Maxfield:

“Dr. Maxfield is a brilliant — and somewhat cocky — professor at Whitmore College, and after meeting him, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) begin to think he’s hiding a dark and dangerous secret.”

Todd StashwickAccording to an Entertainment Weekly exclusive, Todd Stashwick (Supernatural, Justified) has been cast in the recurring role of Father Kieran on season one of The Originals.

“Kieran is a tortured Priest with a dark past,” executive producer Julie Plec says. ”Once a powerful and pragmatic diplomat between the humans and the various supernatural factions in New Orleans, he returns home looking for answers about a personal tragedy but finds a very different landscape than when he left.”

EW also reveals that Sebastian Roche will reprise his Vampire Diaries role of Mikael for at least one episode of The Originals.

Shaun SiposAccording to an E!Online exclusive, Canadian actor Shaun Sipos (Melrose Place, Life Unexpected) has landed a recurring role in The Vampire Diaries season five. He’ll be playing Aaron, a new college friend of Elena’s:

“Sipos will play Aaron, who comes to college to escape his tortured past. It’s there that he meets Elena, and the two will bond over the fact that they’ve both experience and survived dark family tragedies.”
