A few weeks ago the CW asked for questions from fans to ask the cast. We’ve been asked a lot about what happened to those interviews, and we’re pleased to say that they’re now online for everyone to watch. Though we’ve noticed that there’s a distinct lack of a CW Connect interview with Michael Trevino. We think that should be remedied. ASAP. ;)

You can watch the interviews with Katerina Graham, Zach Roerig, Steven R. McQueen and Sara Canning here, and we’ll be posting the interviews with Nina, Paul, Ian and Candice in another article.

Candice Accola recently guested on KTLA news to chat about the Vampire Diaries and be quizzed on vampire trivia.

The CW Connect interviews with Steven R. McQueen and Sara Canning have finally been uploaded to YouTube. Given it’s been so long, we’ll post them here rather than just updating the old post. Steven talks about Jeremy, Vicki, and that he’s sorry he’s not Margaret (though we don’t think he really needs to worry, a lot of fans are really liking Jeremy); Sara talks about Jenna as a person, the challenges she faces, and shooting in Atlanta.

Damon Salvatore has made Entertainment Weekly’s Best Bitches list, which will be featured in the magazine’s latest issue (available from tomorrow). There’s an amusing article on the subject up on their PopWatch blog in which we learn all about Ian Somerhalder’s reaction to fans asking him to bite them, and why he has to politely turn them down.

“One of them is legality. Another may be the fact that they’re extremely young and their 6’4″ father’s standing there with a baseball bat. Or that they’re married. Or that my lovely and wonderful girlfriend is standing next to me going ‘Uh-uh, it ain’t gonna happen.’”

Executive producer Kevin Williamson was recently interviewed by Jim Halterman. The interview covers what attracted Kevin to the Vampire Diaries project, the books, the story, flashbacks, gay characters (there’s apparently a storyline with Caroline’s dad coming up), and, of course, that really ugly cast they have working for them. ;)

JH: The back-story element with Damon, Stefan and Katherine is so rich. Is that something we’re going to see more of this season?

KW: I think we’ll see more of that periodically. We’re doing another flashback episode right now – episode 12 – and we’re actually going to go back in and show a little bit more and open it up a little bit. I think it’s important to do it if it’s going to propel our story forward.

Finally, there are CW Connect interviews with Sara Canning and Steven R. McQueen up on the CW website. Steven talks about Jeremy, Vicki, and that he’s sorry he’s not Margaret (though we don’t think he really needs to worry, a lot of fans are really liking Jeremy); Sara talks about Jenna as a person, the challenges she faces, and shooting in Atlanta. We’ll embed the videos for everyone to see when they’re uploaded to YouTube.

Ian Somerhalder is featured in the latest CW Connect video, where he talks about the Salvatore brothers’ relationship, Damon’s love for Stefan, his inspiration for playing Damon, and the vampire powers and mythology used in the show.

We’ve got a couple of pictures from the Vampire Diaries set cropping up featuring Matt Davis as Alaric now. Nina Dobrev has tweeted a picture of Zach Roerig, Matt and Katerina Graham, while @LilMissX tweeted the picture below of Matt with Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley.

For the ratings geeks among you, TV by the Numbers has the DVR/live-plus figures breakdown, and the Vampire Diaries has gained another 1.4 million viewers on top of Thursday’s live viewing figures of 3.8 million.

Finally, the Vampire Diaries is up for nomination in the 2010 People’s Choice Awards Favourite Sci-Fi/Fantasy show. You can vote in the entire thing, or be naughty and skip to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy category. Thanks for the heads up, @Emmett2025!
