The CW has been showcasing these cool cast interview videos on cwtv.com for a few weeks now, in which each actor analyzes their character and speculates what might be in store for them in the second season of Vampire Diaries. (We were waiting to blog ‘em ’til they showed up on YouTube, but that obviously isn’t going to happen any time soon.) The interviews happened during the filming of Founder’s Day, which makes them a treat considering we’re not sure the actors knew what was coming.
Still no Truth Behind Alaric video or (dare we hope?) one for Katherine, but U.S. viewers can check those posted so far over at the CW.
Here’s a direct link to each “The Truth Behind…” video on CWtv.com:
- The Truth Behind Elena: Nina Dobrev interview
- The Truth Behind Stefan: Paul Wesley interview
- The Truth Behind Damon: Ian Somerhalder interview
- The Truth Behind Tyler: Michael Trevino interview
- The Truth Behind Jeremy: Steven R. McQueen interview
- The Truth Behind Bonnie: Katerina Graham interview
- The Truth Behind Caroline: Candice Accola interview
- The Truth Behind Matt: Zach Roerig interview
- The Truth Behind Jenna: Sara Canning interview

…”Katherine?”
And Vampire Diaries fans across the land gave each other hi-fives. Except John, of course. What else can we say about Founder’s Day as it puts the capper on the CW’s Season 1 encore run? How about this: BRING ON THE RETURN! Vampire Diaries Season 2 kicks off next Thursday, Sept. 9th at 8/7c. Now’s time to lend that Vampire Diaries S1 DVD to friends and spread the word that our show is back with a vengeance. Want a goal? See if the Season 2 premiere can’t blow the series premiere ratings outta the water.

Courtesy of KryptonSite: the official network description for Brave New World, the second episode of Vampire Diaries Season 2. Highlight for (definite!) spoilers or check it out in the Episode Index (which we are so happy to be updating again!). The episode was directed by John Dahl (who directed Friday Night Bites from Season 1) and written by Brian Young.
THE CARNIVAL FROM HELL — When a confused and desperate Caroline (Candice Accola) leaves the hospital and joins her friends at the Mystic Falls Carnival, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) wants to take immediate action, but Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) come to Caroline’s defense. Matt (Zach Roerig) is completely mystified by Caroline’s behavior, but still tries to tell her about his feelings for her. Damon has suspicions about Tyler’s Uncle Mason (guest star Taylor Kinney) and uses Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) volatile personality in an attempt to get Mason to reveal his secret. Upset with everything going on around her, Bonnie (Katerina Graham) takes her anger out on Damon. Steven R. McQueen also stars. John Dahl directed the episode written by Brian Young (#202).

Ugh. Gilbert men are such drama queens. Tune in to the CW at 8/7c for the return of Isobel. This was a heartwarming episode, what with the threats against family members, supreme mind-effery of bereaved/confused spouses, and general tension (sexual and otherwise) going around. And who else hopes the lovely Mia Kirshner will drop in again some time? (Yeah, us too!) Here’s another reason to celebrate tonight: VAMPIRE DIARIES RETURNS WITH BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW EPISODES IN TWO WEEKS! How do you like them oranges?

To mark the return of the Vampire Diaries to our screens in September, the CW and Ford have teamed up with a doozy of a giveaway for fans. Fancy a chance at winning a vamped-out 2011 Ford Fiesta? Then read on. You need to be a member of Twitter or Facebook to participate in the contest, as you enter it via one of those websites.
Head on over to the CW’s contest site to find out how to enter exactly, and read the contest rules here. The closing date is Friday, September 3, 2010, at 5pm PT. Entrants must be over 18 and a resident of the USA.
GOOD LUCK!
We’re pretty sure they’ll be wiping the blood stains off before the lucky winner gets it. It’s best not to ask what Damon was up to before it was photographed, though.
(With thanks to I Heart Vampire Diaries for giving us the heads up.)

Awww, we know. We just couldn’t resist another rar!Stefan joke so soon on the heels of that whole Miss Mystic Falls disaster. On the bright side? Bunnies don’t judge. But after the revelations of Blood Brothers, did you judge? Well, flip on the CW at 8/7c and re-evaluate your feelings about the younger Salvatore; hell, the older Salvatore, too. Come to think of it, re-evaluate the entire Salvatore family and wonder what issues these two dudes don’t have. Now consider everything Elena’s got on her shoulders – Yeah. She’s a veritable superwoman. And speaking of stress and superpowers (of patience)…
