THREE WEEKS. How are you holding up? The good news is that the CW is counting down to new episodes of The Vampire Diaries (March 25th!) with three excellent eps, back to back, and tonight is the cheekily titled Unpleasantville. A kiss in the headlights! Bonnie’s bangs! Stefan’s and Damon’s dance moves! Alaric “balls of vervain” Saltzman! Stalker!Anna and Clueless!Jeremy. Two tools named Noah and Ben. And, yes, miz Elena “I have pencils and I am not messin’ around” Gilbert. Oh, and did we mention the best songlist of any episode thus far? Television Without Pity (via Yahoo!’s TV blog) lists their reasons for why The Vampire Diaries might be television’s most addictive show, including Nina Dobrev, the Salvatore brothers, the creepy factor, expanding on the books’ storyline, and more.

When “The Vampire Diaries” first debuted last fall, we worried it would be nothing more than “Twilight” for TV. But we’ve been happily proven wrong by the show’s quality storytelling and characters week after week. Sorry, “True Blood,” but this is the successor to “Buffy” we’ve been waiting all these years for.

We particularly agree with this one:

2. Tremendous Pacing
Something major has happened on the show almost every single week. Weaker shows drag out plot points for episodes on end, but “The Vampire Diaries” resolves those storylines in a mere forty minutes and then blows us away with something new.

E!’s Watch with Kristin has a few interesting Vampire Diaries tidbits, and one is actually pretty huge.

Mae in Atlanta: Please tell me some of the sexy Vampire Diaries stars are hooking up in real-life!

Not so, says Candice Accola (Caroline). “There’s so much heat going on onscreen—we’re all just a family,” Candice tells us with a laugh. “I wish there was some juice or some crazy things going down, but not really. We disgustingly all just get along, and no one’s dating.” So apparently all the drama is happening on the show? Hmph! (Check the spoiler section below for that.)

What is the obsession with everyone hooking up, anyway?

And now we head into some major spoiler territory (seriously, DO NOT READ if you don’t want to know, and best avoid the comments):

Monica: Damon and Stefan for the win! Any scoop on Vampire Diaries?

Sorry, but I only have some good news for you Damon-Elena shippers: Stefan may dabble in something very un-Stefanlike again soon, which might change him somehow, and I just can’t imagine that goes over well with good girl Elena. Also, you’ll never guess whose body is going to be found…The next few episodes are gonna be good!

Heat Magazine are really getting into the excitement of the Vampire Diaries and have up a little article selling the TV series to UK audiences, calling it “sexier than Twilight and less icky than True Blood, this is one vampy series you simply MUST watch”. They also have an exclusive video interview with Ian Somerhalder talking about the series, which you can view here. Sadly, there are no embed options, but we’ll be sure to add it if it crops up on YouTube. Thank you to Amy for sending us the links.

Kristin over at E! Online has a nice Stefan and Damon teaser for “Children of the Damned”. Highlight/mouseover to see the spoiler:

This week’s The Vampire Diaries reveals one of the biggest secrets of all: What actually happened to make Damon and Stefan hate each other? “We get to see the incident that drove them apart for the first time,” says show runner Julie Plec. Ooh, “the incident”? sounds a little Lostish! Also, we’ll see Dexter’s James Remar for the first time as Papa Salvatore. Let’s just hope he lives by a very different code than Harry Morgan!

And a little more specific:
The incident that tore Damon and Stefan apart involves their mutual love of a certain Elena look-alike vampire. Turns out, Stefan might inadvertently be the reason Katherine was locked up in the tomb, hence Damon’s desire to free her, and his unexplained hatred of his little bro.
