E! Online’s Tierney Bricker recently chatted all about the Vampire Diaries with Katerina Graham, in particular Kat’s take on the possibility of a relationship between Bonnie and Damon, and repairing Bonnie’s damaged relationship with Elena.
While Kat isn’t sure if Bonnie will have a love interest this season, there is one relationship she will be focused on repairing: her friendship with Elena (Nina Dobrev, part two!). Will the BFFs be able to overcome all the drama from last season?
“These are two people that they are going to make an effort. They’re going to really try and repair, but I mean even me, if the situation had happened to me, I don’t know how much repairing could be done,” she said. “I know that they really, really love each other and that Bonnie has this almost desperate attachment to Elena because that’s her family now.”

MTV’s Hollywood Crush reveals the first official still from Memory Lane, the fourth episode of Vampire Diaries Season 2. While such a still may seem a bit anti-climactic considering we know this will be the season’s first flashback episode, we think Katherine’s cute boots might make up for it. For now. Head on over to Hollywood Crush to read their speculation.

Reuters‘ Solarina Ho had a chance to talk with Ian Somerhalder last week. He discusses Damon (of course), but also delves into the Gulf Oil Spill and his involvement with start-up Go Green Mobile Power.
Paul (Wesley) and I actually just did a scene … we’re in a beautiful location outside and … in the beginning of the scene, I was furious and kind of off the handle. But at the end of it, Stefan and Damon actually agreed on something and it was such an odd moment for Stefan to say something and for Damon to actually agree.
The interview is in two parts: PART ONE and PART TWO.

LatinaMag‘s Lee Hernandez catches up with Michael Trevino to discuss werewolves, shirtlessness, and sex scenes.
Not everything is as it seems, and there are some big surprises down the road. It’s been a lot of fun so far, and I’ve been able to explore this character more this season. Tyler is going to be going through a lot this season and I hope that people are entertained by it. I think fans are going to enjoy the “sneaky” Lockwood family.

And Wall Street Journal chats with Ian Somerhalder:
Is there anything you can tell us about the new season without giving away any spoilers?
Katherine comes back and I’ve been eagerly awaiting Katherine despite the fact that it’s going to make Damon’s life harder. Katherine presents a plethora of problems because she’s a threat to everyone. She can kill anyone of us in the blink of an eye and that poses a very serious problem. I think that the Lockwood family is also going to pose pretty serious problems for the Salvatores. [With the ability to dive back into time], you get the assemblage of the events that lead up to right now. You get to see normal high school kids sort of battling these ultra supernatural issues. It’s going to be cool.

Ian Somerhalder chats with Entertainment Weekly’s Mandi Bierly about how disconcerting it is to see the similarities in Damon and Katherine, the Georgia heat and inevitable shirtlessness, and why the pressure is on for Season 2:
You finish the first season of the show, and everyone worked their asses off, and the season went really well, and people liked the show. But then season 2 comes up, and you realize, whoa, we have more of a responsibility now. The heat is really on now. We cannot do a bad job. So, we are committed to making this a better year of television than last year.

MTV’s Hollywood Crush has posted the second part of their talk with Sara Canning. She explains why Jenna being in the dark when it comes to the supernatural is a good thing:
It’s an important aspect that Jenna is holding down the fort in reality. As much as Jeremy and Elena can be swept up in this mystic world that is encompassing their own reality, they can always go home, and Jenna is really there for them.

Lots of Season 2 discussion from Vampire Diaries cast and producers in the last few days – most previously reported from the Comic Con press room, but some new tidbits as well.
First up, Pop Damage has discussion from executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec:
JH: Will there be any new supernaturals making their way to town this season?
Julie Plec: Ultimately, that notion is what got Kevin and me to want to do the series in the first place. Because in the books, I think it was a huge Civil War battle that shed a lot of blood and because of all the blood that had been shed from the soldiers, it’s just sort of a heightened hot bed of activity, and when we read that, we thought this is a show that can be more than just these characters and just these creatures because this town for whatever reason draws that kind of element in. And the deeper the series gets, hopefully we’ll be able to hold on for as long as possible, but the deeper the series gets, the more we’ll start to get a sense of what other elements might be either long gestating in this town or coming to town because it’s got a strong supernatural pull.
Collider has tidbits from Ian Somerhalder and Michael Trevino:
Will Tyler be a villain?
Michael: Yes. Tyler was always a bully and a prick, but now that he has this supernatural ability, he’ll be a villain. Yes, definitely. You can’t just have Damon around, kicking people’s asses and being a punk. If they can write for me as well as they write for Damon, then it will be fun.
Alix at the TV Chick talks with Steven R. McQueen about Jeremy’s future:
Has [Jeremy's] relationship with [John] influenced who he is this season?
Yeah, most definitely. I think every relationship with an older male figure affects Jeremy a lot, even with Damon. [John] affects him in the way that he’s around. He’s the only older male that is present. The only person I can pull any sort of guidance from. But [John] betrays me, and it’s an interesting, interesting relationship.
And finally, Katerina Graham talks season premiere on last month’s Teen Choice Awards red carpet:
