Ready for a flashback? This webclip from 1912 (EP316) is taking us back in time. Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley are both in this one, and there’s plenty of Salvatore family drama to go around. Big thanks to @xLuvDamonx for the heads up and Mil2aCle for the clip.
Updated to include the official CW video.

We’re still a couple weeks away from 1912 (EP316), but TV Guide is doing its part to keep the fans from dying of impatience. This week’s Vampire Diaries Bite features Ian Somerhalder talking about flashbacks and brotherhood.
Speaking of flashbacks (or throwbacks, anyway) thanks to a (spoiler!) tweet from Julie Plec, we now know that those Mystic Falls kids will be heading back to school, or at least to the building, for another decade dance. This time it’s back to the 1920s, and we can’t wait to see what everyone puts on for that!

If fans of The Vampire Diaries agree on anything, it’s that people need to stop sticking daggers in Elijah, because we just can’t take it anymore. KSite TV interviewed Daniel Gillies about recent developments for his character (spoiler alert for Dangerous Liaisons (EP314)) and asked for his thoughts on Elijah’s immense popularity.
One of the perhaps unexpected things about Elijah is how warmly he has been accepted by the Vampire Diaries fan base. What does Gillies think? “I’m so grateful for it,” he says. “I’ve never really had a character like this before. My response to it that I’m extremely flattered. It’s what you would hope for, whenever you take a role. I had no idea that he would have the effect he did.”
Daniel also talks more about various developments in season 3.

Speaking of season 3 developments, Zap2it spoke with Julie Plec about what’s coming up next after last week’s eventful episode (another spoiler alert for Dangerous Liaisons!). Julie talks about the current state of things between Damon and Elena, and teases the upcoming flashback episode, which will guest star Cassidy Freeman.
“I haven’t seen [her episode], I’ve only heard that she’s awesome,” Plec says. “Cassidy Freeman’s character is a vampire that we’ll meet in our 16th episode, which is the first episode in March back. The episode is called ’1912′ and it’s timed about 100 years ago… when Damon was still the Damon that walked out the door in a huff of disappointment and piousness when his brother was out of control in 1864.”

After this week’s episode, All My Children (EP315), The Vampire Diaries will be going on a brief hiatus. We know, we know – major suckage. But the show returns with 1912 (EP316) on Thursday, March 15th – a flashback episode! The February 17th issue of Entertainment Weekly teased that this particular episode will “explain how Damon became the Casanova we know (and love-hate) today” and Julie Plec says:
“We get to see the birth and rebirth of that wicked, wonderful character.”
And to add to the awesome, TV Guide has our first look at 1912, including Damon in a sharp suit and guest star Cassidy Freeman as Sage. Says Freeman:
“[Sage is] really aware of what being a vampire is and owns it,” says Freeman, who says it “has been a dream to play a vampire” and that she was “jumping for joy” when she got the part.

FYI, book fans: This Sage is completely unrelated to the Sage of the book series. In case you were wondering!

During a recent set visit, TV Guide interviewed Ian Somerhalder about what’s coming up for Damon.
“You’ll start to really see Damon shift from being repressed and stomped on to really making a shift and getting back this mojo he had,” Somerhalder told TVGuide.com. “He realizes, ‘I could cut my losses and move forward and be OK.’”

Oh, hey, check it out: that Dangerous Liaisons (EP314) webclip finally turned up via an official channel. Who’s excited? It’s going to be a long week waiting for Thursday, and we’re not sure if this webclip will help with the wait or make it worse! GREAT BIG SPOILERS for Bringing Out The Dead (EP 313), so watch at your own risk. Damon, Stefan and Elena are all in this one, and everybody is a little on the cranky side.
