David Anders and Sara Canning have been over at RingCon 2011 this weekend. RingCon is a multi-fandom fantasy convention in Bonn, Germany, and according to David Anders, they’re having a pretty good time! Sara Canning also sent out a tweet from the event. You can see some pictures of the actors here.

Sorry for the delay, everyone! I wasn’t able to listen, live tweet and take photos all at the same time, but fortunately there were some great people in the crowd willing to share pictures with all of you. Many of them we retweeted during the show, but we’ve just gotten some really great ones in, thanks to lovely Anna from Australia. The wonderful Chealsea Howell also has pictures from the event in her facebook. Thanks, Anna & Chelsea!
I had my hands full this weekend putting together the event review, but for more detailed coverage, pics, and other goodies have a look over at Vampire Diaries Online and TV After Dark. Bringing you total package coverage of this convention was really a group effort in a lot of ways, let’s hear it for Team TVD!

Disclaimer: I do not work for Creation Entertainment. Vampire-Diaries.net has no prior experience or existing relationship with the company. I paid full retail price for every ticket and piece of merchandise I bought. I am not being paid or compensated in any way for anything written in this blog. This was my first TV show or movie convention and my first time meeting any of the cast.
Before we get started, understand that this is a review, not a recap. I went to TVD Nashville to review the convention itself – how it was organized, what the staff was like, whether or not the fans had fun, and why. If you’re looking for more general coverage, head over to Vampire Diaries Online, they’ve got great stuff from both days already up.
If you’re wondering whether or not to attend TVD Chicago (or any other Creation Convention, really), then this is the post for you.
For anyone in a hurry who needs a shorter version, here it is: Go buy your tickets for the Chicago event! I’m serious. Go buy them right now. Creation Entertainment puts on a great con. Some of you who saw me looking like roadkill on Sunday may have your doubts, but the fact that this event reduced me to staggering incoherence is nothing but a credit to them, the cast, and the lovely, fun people who attended. It was an awesome weekend. I had no bad experiences and there are only a few things I think could use improvement. Overall, I was very impressed with the company and the event.
What, now you want details? I’ve got them.

Hello from Nashville!
We’re going into the second day of the convention, but I wanted to give you all a couple notes and some information, so nobody gets blindsided today.
First, ten thousand apologies for the sudden deluge of tweets from @tvdnews, totally should have given more warning, especially with the pre-Nashville post coming on Season Premiere Thursday the way it did. Truly sorry if the rain of tweets startled anyone or spammed up your TL, I’ll try to be a little more restrained today.
A note about the live tweets – guys, I’m not a professional journalist. I’m doing my best to give you some highlights from the panels, but please remember that these are not personal interviews. The actors are sharing stories and speaking in a conversational format, so it’s very challenging to separate out tweetable bits. It’s a lovely experience and I hope you all get to do it some day, but please bear in mind that I’m tweeting from my Blackberry (no keyboard!) in a large dark room with our delightful cast up on stage being awesome. There are going to be typos and errors, the English language is probably crying in a corner somewhere from what I’ve been doing to it all weekend. Bear with me! :)
I will be continuing to live-tweet panels and tidbits from the con today, but I am only live-tweeting the actors when they’re officially up on stage. In any situation where they’re just visiting with fans, such as the party last night or the private meet & greet sessions, I’m keeping my phone in my purse out of respect for the setting, the actors, and the other fans.
LIVE TWEET SCHEDULE for Q&A Sessions
8:45am – Michael Trevino
12:00pm – Paul Wesley
3:10pm Zach Roerig
All times are USA Central Standard Time and may be shifted a little, things are mostly on time around here but convention times are rarely exact. I’ll be blogging a full review of the con early in the week, so keep an eye out for it! I’m looking forward to telling you all about this event.

Earlier today, Michael Trevino tweeted that he was listed on the Dragon*Con guest list in error:
“For those asking, I was never scheduled nor will I be at Dragon Con this weekend in ATL.”
We don’t know how he wound up on the official guest list, and we’re sorry to have passed along this misinformation. So far as we know, David Anders and Sara Canning are in fact scheduled to attend.
UPDATE: David Anders has also pulled out of the convention.

Looks like we have some changes to the #TVDNashville convention line up. Zach Roerig will be appearing at the convention on Sunday, September 18th along with Paul Wesley. Looks like The Mystic Grill will just have to get along without Matt Donovan for a day or two!
Sadly, Creation has also announced that Ian Somerhalder will not be attending the Nashville event as scheduled. From their announcement:
August 22, 2011: We have been advised that Ian Somerhalder has been invited to present at The Emmy Awards in Los Angeles during our convention day. Therefore he is unable to attend our convention this year. We hope to welcome Ian at a future date and understand this cancellation.
With these two changes the updated guest list for the Nashville event is as follows: Paul Wesley, Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Zach Roerig Michael Trevino and David Anders. For more information about the Nashville convention or to check which day a given actor will appear, you can visit Creation’s website HERE.
