The lovely Robyn Ross sat down with guest star Dawn Olivieri in the TV Guide studio to talk Vampire Diaries, Andie Star, Damon Salvatore, and working with the “passionate” Ian Somerhalder. She’s mum on how much we’ll see of Andie from this point on, but we’re not convinced we’ve seen the last of Ms. Action News, are you?

MTV’s The Seven sent out a heads up via Twitter that the lovely Candice Accola will be giving a tour of Caroline’s bedroom on today’s show. Make sure to tune in to MTV at 5/4c to see Candice’s segment!
And MTV Hollywood Crush sat down with Vampire Diaries guest star Dawn Olivieri to discuss the recent events in Mystic Falls involving Andie and Damon…and if Elena is jealous?
So far, Damon’s lady friend, local newscaster Andie Star, seems to have ruffled few of Elena’s feathers, but that won’t always be the case will it? (I’m sure you Damon-Elena shippers are hoping that’s a big fat NO!). Well, we checked in with Andie’s real-life doppelganger, actress Dawn Olivieri, to get the scoop (or what she would tell us, at least…)

Vampire Diaries Web got their paws on over 100 stills and behind the scenes pics from both seasons 1 & 2. We’ve got a couple for you below, and you can view the rest over in their gallery.

Ian Somerhalder has been confirmed for French convention Welcome to Mystic Falls in Paris on May 21st & 22nd. Keep an eye on Vampire Diaries France and the event website for more information.
There’s an interview up over at PopWrap with Dawn Olivieri, who talks all about her character, Andie Star, her relationship with Damon, and the whole compulsion thing:
PW: The compulsion is interesting because I think she doesn’t actually mind — what do you think?
Dawn: It’s a really good question. An episode ago, I would have said yes, but given what we’ve filmed, I might say no. Think about it like an alcoholic – when you’ve been drinking for so long, that state of being becomes normal to you. It’s almost a subconscious decision. But so far, she hasn’t been given the opportunity to make a choice.

People.com sits down with Sara Canning to discuss her obsession with the supernatural, the most memorable haunted spot she’s ever visited, what supernatural power she’d like to have, and why she would love Jenna to get in on the crazy vampire action. WATCH THE VIDEO AT PEOPLE.COM.
Candice Accola talks with Assignment X about Caroline’s growth in Season 2, including her indeterminate future as an immortal and balancing all of the complicated relationships in her life, including her best friends.
ACCOLA: The relationships amongst the women on the show have gotten a little bit sidetracked throughout this season, just because, whether it’s romantic triangles or whether it’s [other problems], they’ve got their own personal dramas that they’re trying to figure out. In the episodes coming up, you will start to see the women leaning on each other a little bit more, which is a beautiful thing, because you need those friendships.

Entertainment Weekly‘s Mandi Bierly chats with Dawn Olivieri about the future of Andie Star on The Vampire Diaries and what we can expect in tonight’s episode, The Dinner Party.
“You really see how interwoven they’ve allowed Andie to become. Allowing her to be the hostess of this night, you also see the level of compulsion that she’s working with, how that affects her, and what she’s doing to almost be an unknowing accomplice to the situation,” she says. “It’s a funny situation because you have this new character that comes out of nowhere, and now all the sudden she’s best friends with Jenna, and everyone knows her, and she’s taken a seat at the queen’s table. It’s shocking everyone, especially all the fans who already have their couples picked out. Here’s a new one. I’ve heard it termed the ‘Dandie.’”

TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross chats with Vampire Diaries guest star Dawn Olivieri about her turn as Andie Star and why Mystic Falls’ resident reporter will not end up a victim.
Will Andie be disposable to Damon when he’s done using her?
Olivieri: Damon thinks that he’s just using her, but Andie is smarter than the girls you’ve seen him fall [for]. Andie is a worthy opponent not in physicality, but in the mind. What’s going to be interesting is when Andie comes to from her comatose state. She’s a news reporter so she’s not going to be a victim of a crime and let things happen. The unfortunate thing for Andie is she’s going to want to get to the bottom of it.

And The TV Chick has more from Steven R. McQueen, touching on THAT KISS and Jeremy’s role in the Gilbert family legacy.
Obviously, Jeremy’s really curious about his family history, so is that something that will be explored in the second half of the season?
Yeah, eventually. He’s not ready to become friends with Uncle John yet. He’s too hurt by him. But he’s very curious. That’s definitely something that’s always on his mind. He thought he knew his dad, but apparently he doesn’t. So he wants to know what’s going on. He’s just not ready to ask.

E!Online catches up with Ian Somerhalder to talk Damon’s existential crisis and how it may affect his reltionships on the show, from his compelled reporter “girlfriend” to his fragile friendship with Elena.
While the old Damon might run for the hills and let the massacre commence, Ian reveals that there won’t be any running coming up for his character. “Damon forged these relationships and now he has stake in this town. He has relationships with people that he cares about, one especially, and now he is kind of forced to stand and fight, and that’s what he’s doing. It’s definitely hazardous to his health both physically and mentally.”

And TV Guide also speaks with Ian about Damon’s current path:
As we saw in last week’s episode, Damon not only uses Andie for pleasure, but to get his emotionally conflicted feelings off his chest before compelling her to forget what he says. “It’s like the people who can’t express their feelings unless they’re drinking; it’s sad,” Somerhalder says. “It’s not something I would recommend, but it is one way to live.”
Although Somerhalder doesn’t believe that Damon will continue down his heartbreakingly vulnerable path too long, he does reveal it will become problematic.
“He’s just struggling with this feeling thing and the whole thing is just foreign to him,” he says.

HollywoodLife catches up with new Vampire Diaries guest star Dawn Olivieri to talk about her turn as Damon’s new compelled plaything/confidante, Mystic Falls reporter Andie Star. Will she be sticking around for a while?
“Andie has so much more to do,” Dawn teased. “I feel there’s a lot of room for this character to figure out [Damon's] compulsion. She’s not stupid, but this compulsion keeps her from seeing the bigger picture. I can’t wait for them to give her some moments where she kind of gets an idea of what’s going on. Or whether it’s Elena who helps. I don’t know how they’re going to write it, but that’s coming. It has to come.”

PopWrap and Steven R. McQueen reflect on how far Jeremy Gilbert has come from the sullen, druggie little brother in the Vampire Diaries pilot:
PopWrap: Jeremy has really come a long way since the druggie disaffected kid he was in the pilot. What have you thought about his journey?
Steven McQueen: I love the transformation – he’s in a totally different mindset now. From the beginning, I imagined there would be a change. Anyone that has addiction issues is often hiding from themselves and I was hoping he would come into his own. It’s been interesting to see Jeremy become the man he is supposed to be.

And McQueen assures TV Line that Jeremy backs Elena when it comes to this whole sacrifice deal:
Speaking of “bigger things going on,” Steven assures fans that Jeremy is 100% on Elena’s side when it comes to The Originals’ impending doom — even if he’s still conflicted about the whole thing. “Before, Jeremy was always rebelling against his sister, but now with all this crazy stuff going on, it’s like, ‘alright, we butt heads from time to time, we’re family, I love ya and I’ll do what I’ve got to do to protect you.’ They’ve definitely gotten closer — and Jeremy’s no longer a s#*!head character.”
