Previously on The Vampire Diaries: The Hybrid knocked our collective socks off. We have become the barefoot fandom. We had Klaus throwing tantrums, murder, ghosts, soul-searching and serious parental problems. Ripper Stefan isn’t just winning hearts, he’s snatching them right through our backs and making us yell “IS IT THURSDAY YET?” even before the final credits roll. It’s webclip time! TVD fans are still reeling from The Hybrid, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t ready for a new episode! This week will bring us the much-anticipated episode 303, The End Of The Affair. We’re all counting down the minutes until Thursday, so here’s a little taste to help you make it though.
Regarding Comments: People have been getting really worked up about this webclip. We’re seeing a lot of inflammatory language that needs to stop, now. Everybody needs to calm down and remember that this is a show we all love, or we wouldn’t be watching. While you may not care for a particular character or storyline, there is absolutely no reason to be attacking each other. We’re watching the comments and will close them if we must, so please keep it civil and appropriate. Thanks.

Before we get to our regularly scheduled download links, yet another reminder that there has been no official announcement concerning the U.K. air date for Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries. We do know that last week’s premiere was posted to iTunes U.K. on Monday and logic dictates that The Hybrid will also be posted to the service after this weekend. (UPDATE: The Hybrid is now available on iTunes UK! Link below.) We will not speculate or give generalizations about when we think the show will be back or when to expect a premiere announcement. Trust us: The minute ITV2 announces the return of Vampire Diaries to U.K. screens, every single fansite in this fandom will plaster it all over the internet. We know it sucks, U.K. fans. Hang in there!

And here it is – the extended promo for The End of the Affair (EP303), next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries. Both Paul Wesley and Joseph Morgan have name-checked this ep as a favorite, so expect lots of Klaus and Stefan and flashback goodness.

According to the synopsis, Elena has a new strategy to find Stefan that involves Damon, Alaric… and we’re dying to find out what being soaking wet in a body of water has to do with it. Did Damon dunk her in an attempt to get her to see things his way? Or does Stefan have a previously unknown thing for mermaids? While this is going on, Jeremy and Matt continue to bond over their mutual ability to look good in Mystic Grill t-shirts loss of Vicki, Klaus furthers his plans for world domination and brings out the delicious worst in Stefan, and Caroline is cursing her keen fashion sense as Tyler and Carol Lockwood do the emotional confrontation thing. Now, does anyone know where Elena’s towel is?
Don’t forget that directly after The Hybrid you can watch The Secret Circle, the new Thursday night companion for The Vampire Diaries from Kevin Williamson, based on another L.J. Smith series.

The CW has released the official synopsis for The Reckoning (EP305). The episode airs Thursday, October 13th. Highlight for spoilers or head to the Episode Index:
A SENIOR PRANK NIGHT TO DIE FOR — Despite all that has happened, Caroline (Candice Accola) is determined to see that Elena (Nina Dobrev), Bonnie (Kat Graham), Matt (Zach Roerig) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) all enjoy a traditional Senior Prank Night before the school year begins at Mystic Falls High School. However, when uninvited guests show up, it doesn’t take long for the evening to take a deadly turn. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) convinces Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) that he can use his new connection to the other side to help find a way to defeat Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Finally, Klaus deepens his hold on Stefan (Paul Wesley) and uses him for increasingly violent and dangerous purposes.
The episode was directed by John Behring and written by Michael Narducci.
