Well, this is exciting! Creation Entertainment has a few interesting listings on their upcoming event schedule: two special events with Paul Wesley, one in Nashville this September and one in Chicago next April.
Details are pretty scant at the moment, with Creation’s website saying details to come, but cross your fingers extra hard. While we’re pretty sure Creation wouldn’t list the events unless they were 100% confirmed with Paul’s people, hopefully we’ll get more info/further confirmation soon.
NASHVILLE, TN
Sat. & Sun.
September 17-18-2011CHICAGO, IL
Sat. & Sun.
April 14-15, 2012
Huge thanks to the always awesome @melanoma27 for the heads up! And please keep in mind that all appearances like this are subject to change.

If you don’t have your tickets for EyeCon’s Vampire Diaries convention in Atlanta, March 25-27, you really should remedy that because the guest list just keeps growing with awesome. Michael Trevino has officially been added to the convention line-up. He will join previously announced guests Paul Wesley, Steven R. McQueen, Chris William Martin, and Rob Pralgo for North America’s very first TVD convention. And, according to the nifty press release EyeCon just sent out:
Also announced is the launch of a fan made film/video contest. Fans will have the chance to showcase their creativity to the crowd and win amazing prizes. Guidelines for the video are as follows: the videos must be less than 10 minutes and must be original works set in The Vampire Diaries universe. The winners will be shown for the crowd at the convention!
We couldn’t find anything about the contest on their website just yet, but we’re sure more details/guidelines will be forthcoming, so be sure you’re following EyeCon on Twitter and on Facebook.

The lovely @TVD_Chloe asked if we could point fans to Michael Trevino Online’s Birthday Project, in honor of Michael’s birthday on January 25th. Chloe will be editing together a video of birthday wishes from fans. If you want to participate, head over to MTO to get details on how you can submit. (Don’t have a camera? You can also sign his birthday card.) Deadline is January 18th.
For those of you attending EyeCon’s Vampire Diaries Convention in Atlanta, March 25-27, entertainment site FanBolt is putting together a Vampire Diaries fan party (not associated with the convention) for Thursday, March 24th, and are gauging interest. If you want to watch the March 24th episode of the show and hang out with your fellow fans (plus lots of other cool stuff), you can find more information on the FanBolt forums and let them know if you’re attending in this thread (please do let them know so they can get an accurate headcount!).
Finally, some of you may be aware, but in case you’re not – Jess and Bri of Vampire Stalkers / Mystic Falls Tours / The VRO suffered the sudden and terrible loss of Jess’ mother (and Bri’s grandmother) earlier this week. The family has no insurance and Jess has (quite understandably) had to postpone all MF tours so the family can grieve and make arrangements. If you would like to help the family, please consider making a donation via the PayPal button (in the left column) on the Vampire Stalkers website. Jess and Bri are wonderful people and deserve all the fandom support we can give them at this time. Red and I extend our deepest condolences.

Big thanks to Sounds Under Radio for sharing their own viewpoint of this past weekend’s Vampire Diaries Season 2 Hot Topic Cast Tour with us! As you all know by now, SUR is performing at each stop of the Tour (don’t miss them in Chicago this weekend and Miami next weekend!). A new version of their track “All You Wanted” (arguably one of the most memorable music placements of the first season) is on The Vampire Diaries: Original Television Soundtrack and features guest vocals from fellow TVD-featured artist Alison Sudol of A Fine Frenzy. You can follow them on Twitter at @SURtweet and on Facebook, and keep up with news on their official website.

Rogue Events’ Insurgence: Bloodlines – the fan convention originally scheduled for this month in Birmingham and now rescheduled for September 10-12 in London – has just announced Paul Wesley as a Guest of Honor. Please keep in mind (as we learned from Nina Dobrev’s cancelled appearance) that con guests are subject to change. For information on tickets and hotel, check out the official Insurgence: Bloodlines page.
And Indonesia’s DaMan Magazine (which featured Zach Roerig in December) just tweeted to say Paul will be featured in their April 2010 issue. DaMan says they interviewed Paul last night (“Super nice guy, btw!”) and we can get a sneak peek at photos on April 1st. Stay tuned.
UPDATE: DaMan also says Paul will be on the cover!

Thanks to the CW, we now have a title for episode 18 (which will mark the introduction of Jonathan Gilbert, played by David Anders): Under Control.
MTV’s Hollywood Crush posted another video from their conversation with Katerina Graham, this time discussing her relationship with the fans:
And thanks to @CW_VampDiaries for pointing out Atlanta Magazine’s super-brief chat with Steven R. McQueen.
Thanks to @IHeartTVD for the heads up that Kayla Ewell will be a guest at EyeCon’s BloodLust Vampire Festival in Orlando, May 7-9. She’s part of a roster that includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer alums Nicholas Brendon, James Leary, Camden Toy, and Lost Boys’ Brooke McCarter. Visit the official BloodLust website for more information.
And speaking of Vampire Diaries cast on the con circuit, you can say hi to Rob Pralgo at ConCarolinas 2010/DeepSouthCon 48 in Charlotte, June 4-6. He’ll be screening one of his films, Exhibit A-7, and chatting about his role as Mayor Charles Lockwood on The Vampire Diaries. Visit the ConCarolinas site for more info. For those of you looking forward to TwiCon, which was set to be the first North American convention celebrating True Blood, Twilight, and The Vampire Diaries, we have some bad news.
TwiCon’s Twitter, @OfficialTwiCon, was deleted with no apparent statement on the cancellation, but according to a March 13th posting on their website:
After much thought, deliberation and best intentions to survive, TwiCon Partners LLC has made the difficult decision to cease operations. Competitive pressures, coupled with the persistent nature of the economic downturn, have necessitated this action. Both of the scheduled 2010 TwiCon events have been cancelled as a result of today’s decision.
They also state that ticketholders will receive information on refunds shortly.

As we reported last month, Vampire Diaries is set to be honored at the 2010 William S. Paley Television Festival in Los Angeles this year, and we now have a set date! The Vampire Diaries event will be held on Saturday, March 6th at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.

Vampire Diaries is one of several shows (including Glee, Modern Family, Community, Lost, Dexter, NCIS, Cougar Town, Breaking Bad, Seth MacFarlane & friends, FlashForward, Men of a Certain Age, and Curb Your Enthusiasm) being honored at this year’s Fest. The Fest gives fans the opportunity to hear the cast and production team talk about the show in-person and usually see some behind the scenes goodies.
Tickets for Paley members go on sale this Friday, January 22nd, and tickets for non-members will be available Sunday, January 24th. You can find more information at the PaleyFest website.
Thanks to The Televixen for the heads up!

Awards Show Network caught up with Candice Accola and Katerina Graham at the Golden Globes Young Hollywood Party to talk about their picks for this year’s Golden Globes. Candice name-checks 30 Rock, The Office, Modern Family, and Dexter as favorites, and Katerina is rooting for “everyone” (and mentions that Vampire Diaries has “amazing” fans).
Variety has a brief write-up on how the 2010 William S. Paley Television Festival is shaping up and Vampire Diaries (along with Glee, with more to be announced) is set to be honored at this year’s Fest.
Fox’s frosh hit “Glee” has been selected as one of the programs to be featured at the TV gabfest, which is set for Feb. 26-March 14. Fest is moving locations from the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood to the Saban Theater (formerly the Wilshire Theater) in Beverly Hills… Only one other show besides “Glee” has been announced. CW skein “The Vampire Diaries,” which airs at 8 p.m. Thursdays, will also be feted.
Finally, E!’s Watch with Kristin has a major, major spoiler for the return of Vampire Diaries in the new year (if you don’t wanna know, don’t read!):
Monica in Portland, Ore.: How great is Vampire Diaries? I thought I would hate it, but I’m obsessed. Do you know what big things they’re leading up to for the end of the season?
I can tell you that the writers actually aren’t going to wait until the end of the season to open the tomb with all the vampires and Katherine in it, and you know that’s gonna be good!
