In light of recent drama, and because we have been receiving a lot of questions, we feel it’s time to set the record straight on a few things.
And we also have Ian’s Q&A session from EyeCon for you at long last:
Rob Pralgo (the late Mayor Lockwood, as if you all didn’t know) was definitely a fan favourite at EyeCon, staying the entire weekend and breaking a few rules in order to have fun with fans and brighten their day (and if you’ve read our review, you can imagine how genuinely that was appreciated). We’re pleased to be able to share his Q&A session with you, courtesy of Romancia and Vampire Diaries Online.
I’ve spent a lot of time the past few days struggling over how I was going to write about this past weekend’s 2011 EyeCon Vampire Diaries Convention, North America’s very first convention devoted exclusively to The Vampire Diaries. I wanted to be reasonable and fair and forgiving. But the truth of the matter is that other than meeting and hanging out with the amazing fans in attendance (thanks so much to those who swung by our table or stopped us in the halls to say hi!), the fun cast Q&As (I didn’t go for photo ops or autograph sessions, so can’t personally speak to those), and the overwhelming generosity and support of charity (both of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation and the various fandom charity groups present), I have nothing positive to say about the convention. As a “sponsor,” vendor, and fan, I found the entire EyeCon experience to be disappointing, infuriating, and downright embarrassing.
ThinkHero has come to the rescue of deprived Michael Trevino and Steven R. McQueen fans, providing video and images of their Q&A session at EyeCon. You can watch part one of the session below, and then head on over to ThinkHero for the rest, along with pics (abs are revealed!).
I’m in the process of writing my own review of the 2011 EyeCon Vampire Diaries Convention in Atlanta this past weekend (for now, let’s just say I was less than impressed with the con itself, but the fans were fabulous) [ETA: READ IT HERE] but we want to hear from you about your experience. If you attended the Con, please let us know your thoughts on the weekend – what you liked, what you didn’t like, what should be changed, etc.
For those of us who weren’t at EyeCon to attend the Q&A sessions with various Vampire Diaries cast members, fear not! We’ve got footage of the events for you to watch in the comfort of your own chairs. First up, Paul Wesley!
We’re working on getting the Q&A sessions Ian Somerhalder, Michael Trevino and Steven R. McQueen as soon as possible.
Chloe from Vampire Support (also famous for her Vampire Diaries Vlogs) sat down with Michael Trevino at EyeCon to grill him with the questions you guys wanted to ask him. Check out the video below, or watch it directly on YouTube.
The fabulous @TVD_Maria from The Delena Diaries snapped a whole bunch of photos from Paul Wesley’s Q&A session at EyeCon yesterday, and generously allowed us to share them with you (along with a few of Rob Pralgo from his own Q&A session). We’ll be posting more stuff from the event for you later, but in the meantime you can view the Paul photos in our gallery.
As we mentioned last night, Vampire Support and Vampire-Diaries.net are teaming up at EyeCon’s Vampire Diaries Convention this weekend and the delightful Chloe (a.k.a. TVD Chloe, RoboChloe) will be sitting down for a video interview with the equally delightful Michael Trevino. We know we have questions, so that means YOU have questions too, right? We’ll be hand-picking a few fan questions to ask Michael, so drop ’em in the comments of this post! Be creative – this is your opportunity to ask him something new.
