“Brother. Witches.” Tonight at 8/7c: The CW revives Fool Me Once (EP14)…with some Gilbert blood. Okay, we have no proof of that, but we do know that you’re in for a flame-throwin’ good time as The Vampire Diaries pulls the curtain back from more revelations, not the least of which has to do with a certain tomb. And while we’re here, can we applaud the parallel between Bonnie’s actions in this episode and those in Founder’s Day? Let’s hope results aren’t as heartbreaking this time around…though we’ll be waiting for the fallout when the show returns on September 9th.

You knew it was only a matter of time, right? We love our polls and this one’s big: Narrow down your favorite Vampire Diaries: Season One episodes to your TOP THREE. (I can do four, so I’m sweating a bit.) Which episodes made you yell at your television with joy or frustration? Challenged or solidified your allegiances? Turned your character perspective upside down? Which episodes left you with an emotional hangover the next day and had you dissecting it, minute by minute, scene by scene, in blog post comments or in forums? Which three episodes reel you back in, over and over again?
For the first time, we’re going multiple choice. Check your three favorite episodes and see where your fellow fans land. And if you’re so inclined, let us know how and why you settled on your picks.

Break out the hot beverage, blanket, and tissues – Vampire Diaries’ 14th episode, Fool Me Once, returns for an encore tonight at 8/7c on the CW. There’s a lot of danger and distress in this ep, but here’s the bright side: Vampire Diaries returns with new episodes next Thursday, March 25th. New! The long, month and a half nightmare will be over and the universe will have righted itself. We’ll continue posting polls with ridiculous little graphics, the Episode Discussion forum will be rockin’, and we won’t be assaulted with mournful “When is the show coming back?” tweets/emails every day. (We say that with love, with love.)
Celebrate the week’s countdown to A Few Good Men by checking out Fool Me Once‘s songlist again, chatting in the forum about how this episode left you crushed/excited, and if you missed the poll the first time around? It’s not too late to cast your vote.
REMINDER: Don’t forget to vote for Vampire Diaries as Favorite Book in Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, which airs Saturday, March 27th!

Last night’s awesome episode of the Vampire Diaries, “Fool Me Once”, racked up 3.55 million viewers. Honestly, we’re kind of surprised it wasn’t more, because website activity last night was rocking, with the poll attracting a lot of voters and the forums seeing a lot of action (the thread for “Fool Me Once” looks like it’s going to be our most active episode discussion thread yet!). Anyhow, 3.55 million is the number reported, and that’s still excellent. From TV by the Numbers:
CW’s Vampire Diaries was down a bit and saw lows with adults 18-49 and even with Women 18-34 it was on the low side (perhaps a series low with a 2.4 W18-34 rating).
Speaking of people viewing the episode, “Fool Me Once” is now available to watch online from the following sources:
Canadian Fans: Watch for free on CTV
USA Fans: Purchase from Amazon
UK Fans: Purchase from iTunes
The Hollywood Reporter has some new Vampire Diaries casting news. Stephen Martines (The Closer, The Guiding Light, General Hospital) will play a vampire by the name of Frederick who was one of the vampires in locked up in the tomb. Looks like he’s set to cause trouble in Mystic Falls, and we’re not sure that Alaric will take kindly to another guy in town going by the name of ‘Rick’. ;)
The CW have a nice new Vampire Diaries feature on their website, displaying how all the characters connect to each other. Click on the characters to find out more information, a long with a few video interviews with the actors talking about their characters. So far there are videos with Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder.
The Steven R. McQueen fans in the house are starting to get pretty vocal lately, so we’re sure they’ll all love Seventeen.com’s 17 Questions article, where you can find out about Steven’s first kiss, guilty pleasures, dream jobs, and how much cash he has in his wallet.
Finally, tomorrow is the final Hot Topic Cast Tour stop in Los Angeles. Sadly, wristbands for the signing are sold out but the Q&A is open to the public. So head on down to Westfield Topanga for 4pm to catch the cast and hang out with your fellow Vampire Diaries fans. We also suggest investing in some earplugs. The last two events were loud. ;)

IMPORTANT UPDATE: We’re getting reports of people having problems watching the episode. If you’re one of those unfortunate people, you can either leave a comment here, or tweet your info to the CW. You will need to give your city and CW affiliate/channel number, and if you have cable or satellite.
Watch and then swing by here to rate the new episode of The Vampire Diaries. Spoilers are welcome in the comments, though if you want some more in-depth discussion then head on over to the forums! (You’ll need to register, but it takes two seconds.)
Quick guide to the poll options: Emily’s grimoire has been unearthed, and we’re tantalising steps away from the tomb being opened. 5 grimoires = LOVE. 1 grimoire = MEH.
