MTV Hollywood Crush has an interesting chat with Daniel Gillies about the flashback episode of The Vampire Diaries he’s shooting for Season 4. In case you’d thought Elijah’s hair had revealed all of its secrets, Gillies assures us there will be yet another incarnation of the Original’s signature hairdo in the 11th century. Elijah’s coiffure aside, he does have plenty more to say on the subject of the Original family and why Elijah is an important force while Klaus is still in the picture.
“[Elijah is] going to be back, and what role do we expect him to play? I think Elijah brings order. Whenever he returns, s–t gets done,” Daniel explained. “He’s sort of the stabilizer. There’s always a shift in the equilibrium. I think he’s the only one who can truly sort of restrain his brother. I think he’s the only one with the dignity/lucidity to be able to strategize a way out of Mystic Falls and into some sort of sanctuary for their family. I’m not saying that’s what he’s going to do, I’m saying that’s what he’s capable of. I think if the family listened to Elijah, they’d be in an excellent place to position themselves in this very contemporary world that wants them all gone.”

The Hollywood Reporter sat down with Ian Somerhalder to discuss the answer to this question: “How would Damon deal with the fact that Elena could choose either brother (or even neither)?” Watch his response below:
And The Insider caught up with Persia White to chat about the final three episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season 3:
Insider: Does she get in the mix with magic in the upcoming episodes?
Persia: Abby helps Bonnie in a pretty pivotal way that involves witchcraft in these last episodes. I know Abby isn’t in a stable place but her help causes some twists that lead to the big events of the season finale. They’re heavily influenced by the problems Abby is helping Bonnie with.

Thanks to omgtvd on Tumblr, video has surfaced from Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto‘s panel at this Saturday’s Wizard World Toronto! (Those two had a BUSY weekend, yeah? Also, there may be more TVD questions discussed here than at the actual Vampire Diaries convention in Chicago on Sunday, interestingly enough.) Seems like a good time was had by all – some really good stuff in here.
WACH PART 2 & PART 3 UNDER THE CUT.

In advance of her debut on tonight’s 1912 (EP316), guest star Cassidy Freeman is making the interview rounds and giving some tantalizing hints about her character, Sage. (Warning: These interviews have some information on 1912 (EP316) and future episodes! If you want to remain totally spoiler-free, don’t click through.)
Cassidy described Sage for TV Guide:
“Sage has been a vampire for a very long time, so she has the ability to suss out what the best parts of being a vampire are. She’s a live-in-the-moment and live-life-to-the-fullest kind of woman, so she’s enjoying being a vampire as much as one can enjoy being undead. She’s willing to take people like Damon under her wing and teach them the ways of being a pretty badass vampire. She’s like a snake, so she definitely has a seductive way about her.”
She also drops the name of Sage’s “true love from long ago.” And be sure to check out this week’s Vampire Diaries Bite with Robyn Ross, which features a video with Claire Holt and Cassidy Freeman talking Sage’s introduction.

And at TVLine, she gives a little inside info on preparing for her boxing scenes:
“Yeah…. I do have two brothers, and I’m used to beating guys up, so…. I came a little bit early for the episode and studied with John Copeman, the stunt supervisor. We rehearsed together for probably two or three days before we shot it, and then he hired some really talented stunt people to make it look like I knew what I was doing.”

The CW has released the official synopsis for The Vampire Diaries: 1912 (EP316), set to air when the show returns from hiatus on Thursday, March 15th. The episode marks the first TVD appearance of Cassidy Freeman as Sage. Highlight for spoilers or head to the Episode Index:
THE MURDER MYSTERY DEEPENS — The present-day murders in Mystic Falls remind Damon (Ian Somerhalder) of a similar crime spree a century earlier. In flashbacks to 1912, Damon recalls a beautiful vampire, Sage (guest star Cassidy Freeman), who showed him a whole new way to exist. Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) warns Damon not to get involved in her investigation, but Damon is convinced she’s going after the wrong suspect. Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Matt (Zach Roerig) resort to breaking and entering in their search for evidence to prove Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey Devitto) is a murderer. For reasons known only to her, Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt), becomes interested in locating one of the town’s oldest landmarks. Finally, Elena comes to a new understanding of the path her life has taken, and Damon makes an emotional confession to Stefan (Paul Wesley).
The episode was directed by John Behring and written by Julie Plec with Elisabeth R. Finch.
