Thanks to Denise for the heads up on TV Guide Magazine’s interviews with Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, and Nina Dobrev at this weekend’s Hot Topic event in Los Angeles. They talk about what’s on everyone’s mind after the events of Fool Me Once and, now that we have Season 2 to look forward to, the possibilities are nearly endless.

So without the steadfast mission to find his one-time love, what will Damon resort to next? “Damon having idle time, not having a mission, is a very, very problematic situation…I think there are more shenanigans [to come].” And when Damon is up to no good, his Salvatore brother is sure to follow.

We’ve been thinking about a “Damon without purpose” scenario since the last episode aired, and it scares the crap out of us…in the best possible way.

Dobrev is holding out hope for Elena and Stefan, but admits here will always be outside factors toying with the strength of their relationship, which means anything can happen. “I think his presence always has an effect on their relationship, even if he doesn’t do anything. Even his existence complicates both their lives, so we’ll just have to wait and see,” said Dobrev.

Like having Damon show up unannounced in the bedroom. Boundaries, dude. BOUNDARIES.

“One of my favorite things about the show is the flashbacks,” said Wesley. “There’s still so much to cover, like what happened? We’re still at just the tip of the iceberg. There’s so much for us to explore with 1864, but what did they do in 1910? What about 1950? It’s amazing how much we can explore.”

Yeah, the flashbacks are our favorite too, Paul. We want to see Stefan and Damon in 1977. Just sayin’.

Albert Lawrence from Talk of Fame was the Emcee for the last and most exciting stop (Snow! Helicopter! Need we say more?) on the Hot Topic Cast Tour in LA. Aside from his stint on the stage with A Fine Frenzy and Ian, Nina and Paul, Albert also has footage of the event, and filmed some post-show interviews Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. The intrepid Niyah of @CW_VampDiaries was at the Hot Topic Vampire Diaries Cast Tour stop in Los Angeles yesterday and managed a ton of fantastic photos and video of the madness, including part of A Fine Frenzy’s performance. We know it was a long day of waiting, but huge thanks to Niyah for sticking out and sharing her experience with fellow fans. (And follow @CW_VampDiaries on Twitter!) And the Unpleasantville chapter of The Televixen’s Vampire Diaries podcast is up: Nobody Puts Elena in the Corner. The ‘cast features Melissa (@thetelevixen, TheTelevixen.com), Connie (@conallen, Blast Magazine), Lucia (@heroine_tv, Heroine TV), and…me! This one was a lot of fun, as evidenced by the laughter throughout. We recorded it the night before Children of the Damned aired (that podcast should be up soon) and I think the prospect of flashbacks was making us a bit giddy.
