The ratings for “Bloodlines” are in, with the episode being watched by 3.7 million viewers. From TV By the Numbers:
The return after an extremely long hiatus wasn’t kind to Vampire Diaries as its 1.6 for adults 18-49 may have tied a series low (checking now) in that demo. Supernatural fared better, its 1.3 adults 18-49 rating was slightly above its season average for new episodes. In the CW target demo, Vampire Diaries scored a 2.5 rating for women 18-34, tied for second in the timeslot.
And on the subject of “Bloodlines”, the episode is now available to download from Amazon if you’re in the USA. Fans in the UK can also download it from iTunes.
We’ve got a title for episode 15 of the Vampire Diaries, which will be called “A Few Good Men”. I don’t know about you, but it puts the strangest image in my head of Damon and Tom Cruise’s Lestat going head to head in a Mystic Falls court room.
There are some more spoilers zinging around about what we can expect for the second half of the season. Ausiello has a little spoiler about who Damon is going to hook up with next, while E!’s Kristin has some snippets from Julie Plec, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev on subjects such as the love triangle, Damon’s phenomenal kissing ability and what’s in store for Elena (aside from potentially being knocked out with a kiss from Damon).
The Hot Topic cast tour is under way in Atlanta, and the cast are currently signing autographs. While fans weren’t allowed to take cameras in, both Nina Dobrev and Michael Trevino tweeted some pictures for the fans. Nina’s photo shows her fellow cast mates to be a nice, normal bunch, while Michael seems to inspire them to display a little more insanity. ;) The Q&A session will be taking place shortly.
Finally, while Ella was visiting the set yesterday, Nina informed her that she’s NOT going to be at the Insurgence: Bloodlines convention in the UK in March. We’ve contacted Rogue Events to find out what’s going on there, and will let you know if we hear anything.

IESB has posted a chat with Katerina Graham that touches on everything from working with Jasmine Guy to what’s in store in upcoming episodes of The Vampire Diaries:
IESB: Will the show continue with the same pace, giving big reveals in almost every episode?
Katerina: We’ve always had cliff-hangers. It’s always been like, “Oh, my gosh, what’s going to happen next?” There’s always something we leave the audience with to leave them hanging, so that they have to see what happens next. That’s the style of the show, and that’s the way it happens in Mystic Falls. It’s just one thing after another, after another. Just when you think something can’t happen, it happens. You just have to watch. I’m really excited for the new stuff to come out because I know that there’s going to be some doozies.

We tweeted this a few days ago, but Extra names Paul Wesley one of 2009′s Breakout Stars.
And here’s a new year reminder that The Vampire Diaries Hot Topic Cast Tour is ready to roll on January 23rd in Atlanta, Georgia, with stops in Paramus, New Jersey and Los Angeles, California to follow shortly thereafter. Visit the official page over at CWtv.com for more information on how you can catch the cast and score one of Hot Topic’s new Vampire Diaries tees.
Finally, The Televixen has posted her very first Vampire Diaries podcast, which I was happy to be part of. It clocks in at nearly two hours due to touching on every single episode so far, lots of tangents, and Melissa and Connie giving me Alaric hell – but what’re ya gonna do? It is appropriately titled Operation Suspenders. (I don’t think I need to explain where the title came from.)
