The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesThe film and television editor for Portait Magazine dropped us a line asking if we could help spread the word: They’re looking for a few writers who can cover features on The Vampires Diaries – show and cast. Those interested should contact Melissa at melissaleaman@hotmail.com and include a (non-fiction) writing sample. If you don’t have one handy, write up a 250 word description of a supporting character on The Vampire Diaries, as though you were introducing them to someone who has never seen the show.

UPDATE: Melissa in the comments – “Any age can write for the site. We’ve had writers as young as 13 and as old as 27 right now. Age is definitely not an issue. That’s part of the point of Portrait, we want to give people a chance to gain some experience as writers no matter what age.”

Have fun and good luck!

Stefan and DamonMany moons ago (okay, it was back in May, but it seems like such a long time ago) we posted an article – Vampire Lore 101 – all about the traits and characteristics of the vampires in L.J. Smith’s book version of the Vampire Diaries. Now that we’re getting into the swing of the TV series with four episodes already aired, we thought it was about time to write an article about what we know (so far) about the vampires in the TV universe. This is all based on what we’ve seen while watching the episodes, so we may have missed some details and some information may be a little vague until episodes down the line can elaborate more. But there’s a surprising amount of information gleaned from what we’ve seen so far. Be warned, there will be spoilers for the first four episodes.
