The Daily Fig chatted with Candice Accola about Caroline and Stefan, behind-the-scenes hijinks, and more. On how she relates to her character:
“I believe that part of an actor’s job is to find a way TO relate to the character they play. In this particular circumstance I am able to relate to Caroline very easily. I too have been a teenage girl starved to be loved while ultimately believing that nobody understands me and anything that ever happens is the biggest deal and will change everything forever! I’ve also had some years to grow up which is what Caroline is doing. With or without the supernatural aspect of her character I think she’s written in a way that’s relatable to a lot of girls and young women alike.”

Kat Graham took some time recently to answer fan questions submitted to The Daily Fig. The actress reveals her favorite episode of The Vampire Diaries to date, one of her favorite witchy movies, and what she finds to relate to in the character of Bonnie.
Q: Do you find that you relate to your character on some level? And if not, do you like playing someone who you are not like?
A: Sometimes. The anti-BS part for sure. Every character should have a little piece of you in it. But yes, Bonnie Bennett and I are very different.

We have another Joseph Morgan interview for you before tonight’s episode. This time, he talks to The Hollywood Reporter about how hard it is to kill those pesky Originals, as well as Klaus’s Tyler problem and who his “first call” might be. If you’re caught up through last week’s episode, click over for the particulars. Otherwise, enjoy this more general but still intriguing tidbit:
“First of all, you’ve got to remember that these guys are the original vampires; they’re the strongest vampires to walk the planet. They’re going to be incredibly hard to kill and it’s going to require absolute teamwork from our ‘heroes.’ They’ll do anything and Klaus, he’ll do anything he can to stay alive. He has no qualms about letting others suffer so that he can survive or so his family can survive.”
And how about Klaus’s motivations at the end of the season?
“He’s wanted dead by the majority of Mystic Falls by now so the finale for Klaus, a lot of it is going to be about trying to survive. . . . If things start getting too hot, it’s going to be about making his escape intact — and I would imagine he’s going to want Elena and Rebekah with him.”

Give Me My Remote interviewed Paul Wesley at PaleyFest, but it looks like they held this one back as it’s particularly relevant to tonight’s episode (spoilers). Paul talks a bit about Stefan and Elena and what needs to happen before he thinks they could really be together as a couple. He also touches on Stefan’s relationship with Rebekah and Klaus, and how those play into the current situation.
Meanwhile, TVLine has a (SPOILER!) tidbit from Julie Plec about what’s ahead for Bonnie Bennett over the next few episodes, especially where it comes to a particular fella who is definitely not her brother.
We expressed our own curiosity about Bonnie’s storyline in last week’s 20ish Questions column. Let’s see if Julie Plec can sate our thirst. “Bonnie hits her emotional threshold this week, but don’t despair,” the exec producer tells the Inside Line. “She finds a nice bit of hope when she gets closer to Jamie and takes him as her date to the Decade Dance where he gets a glimpse of Bonnie the hero in action.”

Ahead of tonight’s The Murder of One (EP318), Joseph Morgan has been doing an interesting set of interviews. Warning: These all contain spoilers through last week’s Break on Through (EP317)! First, at TVLine, he talked about Klaus and sibling relationships, romance – and bromance:
“Stefan is the biggest thorn in Klaus’ side, because if it comes to it, [Klaus] will kill Damon. … So I really think that there’s a little bit of him that still thinks his friend might be coming back. He’s still not willing to give up on The Ripper. That’s the biggest weakness that he has at the moment. He doesn’t believe who Stefan is now is the real him. He believes the real him was him back in the ’20s, and he still really wants his friend back. He learned so much from Stefan in the ’20s, even though he was a great deal older than him. It’s a bromance I think he misses as well.”
READ THE WHOLE INTERVIEW AT TVLINE.
And over at TV Guide, he sheds some light on new Original mythology:
“We are going to learn a very interesting fact about the Originals’ mythology and the bloodlines of vampires,” Morgan says. “It’s not another loophole to how the Originals can’t be killed, [but] it’s something which has the opposite effect and it raises the threat level right up.”
Meanwhile, at Zap2it, he explicates Klaus’s feelings about a certain someone. (Remember: Spoilers through current episodes!)
“I’ll tell you that he’s definitely still interested,” Morgan says emphatically. “In the instant that he’s hurt, he’ll burn all the pictures; he’s impulsive. But a thousand years on the planet have given him a certain degree of patience, so I think he’ll come around. I don’t want to call it love, but he’s absolutely infatuated with her. As far as I know, his motives are genuine with Caroline, and it’s not part of some greater scheme or some greater manipulation. He does want to show her the world. He’s not ready to give up yet.”

TV Fanatic has two Vampire Diaries interviews for your reading pleasure, one with Robert Ri’chard and one with Cassidy Freeman. Beware of spoilers if you haven’t yet seen Break On Through (EP317).
Robert Ri’chard‘s interview focuses on the Jamie and Bonnie dynamic, and whether or not we’ll be seeing those two characters interacting in the future. The actor addresses an issue that many fans have been discussing: whether or not Jamie’s position as Abby’s surrogate son in some way makes him a relative of Bonnie’s.
“They made it clear I’m not Bonnie’s brother,” the actor said. “I’m not family to her, but I’m gonna play an important, personal role in her life.”

As for Sage, Cassidy Freeman gives a little insight into the troublesome redhead’s relationship with the Originals, and hints that things may not be all smooth sailing and shower shenanigans in the next episode.
“Sage has a big surprise coming,” the actress teased of events ahead on “The Murder of One.” “And it’s definitely life-changing.”

TVNZ’s 20/20 recently did a feature on Vampire Diaries, and they caught up with some of the cast to ask them about the show. Candice Accola, Michael Trevino, Kat Graham and Joseph Morgan talk a little about on screen romance and what it’s like to film and live in Atlanta. The interview is cut with some clips from things that have happened up through The Reckoning (EP305), so spoiler warning applies to anyone who hasn’t gotten at least that far into season 3.
