Yes, we’re sorry to say that this is the last episode of the Vampire Diaries for 2011. The next new episode (The New Deal) will air in the USA on January 5th 2012. We’ll let you know when it’s back on UK screens as soon as ITV2 give out the date.
Tonight it’s all about the Homecoming dance at Mystic Falls High, everyone dressing up to the nines and the Originals causing all kinds of trouble. Oh, the band My Morning Jacket – highly recommended by Vee – make an appearance. As we understand it, all members survived the experience relatively unscathed.

Watch out – it’s senior prank night at Mystic Falls High School! (Yes, apparently Elena and company still show up for school often enough to even find out about these things.) But the seniors aren’t the only ones plotting things, and the title of The Reckoning suggests that there will be consequences – and they’ll probably be harsher than detention for a prank gone too far.

Flashback time! Stefan. In a suit. In the 1920s. Even if you’re not a Stefan fan, you have to appreciate Mr Paul Wesley in that outfit. Klaus takes Stefan on their honeymoon a trip to Chicago to relive his past, with Damon and Elena on their trail. Back in Mystic Falls, Caroline’s absense has not gone unnoticed – what will be the fate of our favourite Vampire Barbie?

Just in case some of my fellow UK fans have missed the notice in the website header, the Vampire Diaries returns to UK screens on Tuesday, 11th October at 9pm on ITV2. That’s right – next week! The ITV2 Vampire Diaries website has been spruced up in preparation, with a character gallery and story history. There’s also a Season 3 preview video up, though be warned – it’s spoilery.

UK fans rejoice! We finally have the date that the Vampire Diaries returns to UK screens! Season 3 premieres on ITV2 at 9pm on the 11th October! The date has been confirmed on the official ITV2 Twitter and Facebook accounts.
