Oh, lordy, you are in for one hell of a penultimate episode, UK fans. We get some really pressing questions answered, fates of characters revealed, opinions of characters turned right around in your head. Oh, and Bonnie? Really is fierce. Think you’re ready? You really, really aren’t. But you’re gonna love it.

We have another giveaway this week, so make sure you’re following us (@tvdnews) if you want a chance to win. We’ve got two copies of the Vampire Diaries soundtracks courtesy of the awesome folks over at ITV2. We’re using the same format as we’ve done with the previous UK giveaways – one soundtrack for the best tweet using the #tvduk hashtag, and one for the first person who tweets us the answer to the trivia question we’ll post at the end of the episode. You don’t need to use the #tvduk hashtag for the trvia question, but you will need to keep a sharp eye on the little things in the episode, because that’s what the trivia question will be based on.

There’s plenty of time to still join in with the buzz following the episode after it aired in the US:

Tune in to ITV2 (and be sure to follow @itv2 on Twitter for some entertaining live-tweeting) at 9pm tonight to catch The Sun Also Rises, or catch it again at 10pm on ITV2+1. Still need to catch up on the previous episode? You can watch it on ITV Player, or download it in HQ from iTunes UK.

From here on out we’re just going to have a standard warning to have a box of tissues on hand, and to make sure that you’ve put your seatbelts on. Because honestly? Just when you think the ride can’t get any wilder, the writers give us yet another episode with more twists than the Corkscrew at Alton Towers (may it rest in peace), and make us sob our eyes out at every turn.

You thought last week was full of shocks and surprises? It hasn’t got anything on this week’s episode. Klaus is here, and he’s more dastardly than we ever expected.

It’s back! The Vampire Diaries has returned to UK screens at long last! We feel it’s only fair to warn you that this episode is jam packed with action and info. You may even need to watch it twice to catch it all (good job we have ITV2+1, eh?).

UK fans, you have one explosively fun episode to look forward to. We have witches up to all kinds of awesome tricks, vampires singing, secrets revealed, Katherine being her usual fabulous self, and the return of Isobel. I also have to confess some relief that the past two episodes are now out of the way. I keep muddling up the titles and keep wanting to type ‘The House Party’. Not sure one of those in Mystic Falls would be exactly wise given how the simple dinner party last week ended up…

Tune in to ITV2 (and be sure to follow @itv2 on Twitter for some entertaining live-tweeting) at 9pm tonight to catch The House Guest, or catch it again at 10pm on ITV2+1. Still need to catch up on the previous episode? You can watch it on ITV Player, or download it in HQ from iTunes UK.

With the wolves out of the picture (for now, anyway), Damon has to find some other kind of trouble to get into. What could possibly go wrong with a simple dinner party? Given Elijah’s invited and that Damon is teaming up with Alaric… a lot. And that’s not the only party going on in town. Flashback to 1864, and we’re treated to Stefan’s darker side as he attends his own little party.

Tyler LockwoodThose darned wolves just won’t let anyone have any peace and quiet in Mystic Falls, and are determined to ruin everyone’s pleasant plans of romantic getaways and tea parties. Suffice to say that all is not well in our supernaturally-attractive town, and that there will be cheers and tears before this episode is over.

Tyler LockwoodLast week you all needed a box of tissues. This week, we recommend a pillow to bite or hide behind when it all gets too tense for you. Uncle John (plus fingers) is back to cause trouble for everyone under the guise of helping Elena. Stefan attempts to reach out to Tyler, Damon is a very naughty boy, Brady is a very bad man (and he seemed so nice on Twitter!), and there’s cool witchy juju to remind us these people are not to be messed with.

Without giving anything away, we recommend that you have a box of tissues on hand (preferably some of those nice Kleenex Balsam tissues – you’ll appreciate the extra softness). We’re going to be finding out what’s in store for poor Rose, what Damon will be doing to find a cure, what those pesky werewolves have planned, and more about that deal Elena made with Elijah.

And how cool is this, UK fans? We’re only 5 days behind the US, now, and there’s plenty of time to still join in with the buzz following the episode:

In preparation for the return of the Vampire Diaries to UK screens on Tuesday, February 1st, ITV2 have a new trailer on their official YouTube channel. There are some flashes of scenes from The Descent for you to ogle at, but (and we’re really sorry, international fans!) only people in the UK can view it. UPDATE: Non-U.K. fans, click here to watch.
