The official synopsis for episode three, ‘Friday Night Bites’, is now up on the episode index page. The episode was directed by John Dahl and written by Barbie Kligman and Bryan Holdman, it looks like it’s going to be filled with a lot of action. And football. Lots of football. :D
SFX Magazine‘s October issue (out in the UK now) has an article about the Vampire Diaries TV series. Not much content – a short explanation along with a few snippets from Ian Somerhalder – but impressive enough that it got a full page given it’s not out in the UK until 2010. You can click on the image below to read the article.

Marcos Siega and Kevin Williamson both tweeted this morning to say that episode 102 of the Vampire Diaries will be directed by John Dahl, whose work includes episodes of True Blood, Dexter and Battlestar Galactica. The producers and cast have been saying all along that the TV version of the Vampire Diaries will be much more than the romance between Stefan and Elena, and will be darker than viewers might expect. So far the choice in Marcos Siega (also known for directing episodes of True Blood and Dexter) and John Dahl as directors certainly seems to back that up.
In other TV series news, Brazilian fans will be delighted to learn that they’ll be seeing the Vampire Diaries in Brazil. VampireDiariesBr.com has let us know that the Warner Channel will be showing the series, though no actual air date has been given yet. We’ll keep you posted.
