Michael TrevinoEarlier today, Michael Trevino tweeted that he was listed on the Dragon*Con guest list in error:

“For those asking, I was never scheduled nor will I be at Dragon Con this weekend in ATL.”

We don’t know how he wound up on the official guest list, and we’re sorry to have passed along this misinformation. So far as we know, David Anders and Sara Canning are in fact scheduled to attend.

UPDATE: David Anders has also pulled out of the convention.

IMG DESCI think we can all agree that the Grim Reaper pretty much lives in Mystic Falls. People die all over this town! They die at dances, at parties, in their houses and out in the woods. There’s so much death going around that a fair number of characters get to experience it multiple times in different ways! With all this wacky expiring going on, it’s high time we gave The Grim Reaper his due on a job well done and vote on the Best Death Scenes in Season 2.

Now, because there are so many awesomely dreadful demises to choose from, we’re splitting this up into two parts – major and minor characters. Which major player will take home the Golden Gravestone this week? Check out your choices below!

A Visitor's Guide to Mystic Falls: Your Favorite Authors on The Vampire DiariesAnd here’s an added bonus: Leave a comment on this post that makes a case for your pick and you’ll be automatically entered to win a copy of A Visitor’s Guide to Mystic Falls: Your Favorite Authors on The Vampire Diaries (co-edited by us and Leah Wilson), courtesy of Smart Pop Books. You have until Tuesday, June 28th at midnight ET to have your comment count as an entry. We’ll also only be counting ONE comment per person, but feel free to discuss away in the comments.

EDIT: Egads! I forgot Caroline! Commenters who pointed this out, you’re totally right! She’s definitely a major character and she did die in Season 2, she should absolutely have been on this list. My only excuse is that I’m so focused on keeping Caroline alive forever that my brain shies away from associating her with death in any way. You should be able to vote for her now if you want to, I apologize profusely for leaving her out.

POLL: Who was the Most Underrated Character of Vampire Diaries Season 2?All of us have that one character we feel just doesn’t get their proper due – so now’s the time to be loud and proud. Who was the Most Underrated Character of Vampire Diaries Season 2? Who deserves more recognition for who they are and what they do? Whose Season 2 efforts – be they main cast or guest star – have been so wrongfully overlooked by fandom? We’re excluding characters featured in the Season 2 MVP post so we can highlight the other vampires, witches, werewolves, and humans who had an impact this season. Pick THREE characters you feel were woefully underrated.

NOTE: Don’t confuse “underrated” with “underused.” That’s an entirely different poll!

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesTV Guide‘s Robyn Ross chats with David Anders about the return of John Gilbert and why he’s wasted no time in stirring up in trouble in Mystic Falls. Why is John hassling Alaric and Jenna? And what are his true intentions when it comes to Elena?

OK, so if John wants to cause trouble with Alaric and he still has ties to Isobel and Katherine, why should Elena trust him? “There’s a great scene between me and [Elena]; it will paint the direction that we’re headed as far as our relationship is concerned,” he says. “I’ve always described it as Darth Vader-Luke Skywalker-like, [but] I think that’s going by the wayside now.”

Entertainment Weekly‘s Spoiler Room has this tidbit about John Gilbert:

I’m loving David Anders back on Vampire Diaries. Have any good scoop on what he is up to? — Stacie
I do, and it comes straight from executive producer Julie Plec: “John’s ultimate agenda becomes crystal clear in ‘The Dinner Party,’ but he’ll be blindsided by the fallout from his actions.”

Thanks to @Shirarose1 for the heads up that Candice Accola will be featured on MTV’s When I Was 17. You can catch the show on MTV this Saturday, February 12th at 11 a.m. EST. Check out a sneak peek video below:

And one more Steven R. McQueen interview for you, this time from Chicago Now’s Show Patrol.

I read that the almost kiss with Bonnie was not in the script and improvised.
Yeah, yeah. I like to improvise, though it’s not always a great thing to do, but I’m big on being in the moment. It was only one take that happened and we were just kind of very close to each other and it was just a moment I felt would have been a cool beat. So I went for it and they ended up choosing that take, which was cool for me as an actor because we always experiment with different things and to see it work out like that was really cool.

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesEntertainment Weekly‘s Mandi Bierly catches up with Sara Canning to discuss what lies in store for Jenna in Season 2 now that she’s in a relationship with Alaric, how Uncle John may screw that all up, and hints that something more significant will go on between Jenna and Elijah (!!!), though she’s coy about what that means.

Speaking of the Originals, we know Elijah (Daniel Gillies), who’s posing as an author researching small towns, has already met Jenna, who got roped into playing Historical Society hostess in the last episode. Will they be seeing more of each other? “Yes,” Canning says. “When Elijah first comes to town, they have a pretty introductory kind of ‘hello, what are you up to here, this is what I do’ relationship. But we’ll see that grow into something else. And that is all I’m saying.”
