The Vampire Diaries is back tomorrow night and we are rewarding your patience with some must-have Vampire Diaries goodies, courtesy of the CW Network. This round, in honor of Cassidy Freeman‘s TVD debut as Sage and those awesome shots of her in the boxing ring, we decided to have some fun with the citizens of Mystic Falls. If your favorite character was a boxer, what would their boxing name be? Would your money be on Matt “Hard Luck” Donovan? Carol “The Event” Lockwood? Or maybe Klaus “The Renovator”?
One grand prize winner will receive: The full-sized Season 3 promo poster pictured at left, signed by Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and Joseph Morgan. Two runners-up will win unsigned Season 3 promo posters. Wanna play?
THE RULES:
- This contest is open to international fans so EVERYONE can play!
- You must have a Twitter account and be following both @tvdnews and @CW_Network. (It’s important because we’ll be DMing the winners!)
- Copy and paste this tweet: [Your Character's Boxing Name Here] will win me a signed poster from @tvdnews! Watch #TVD1912 this Thursday, March 15 at 8/7c on the CW! You will replace the note in brackets with your character’s boxing name. EXAMPLE ENTRY: Klaus The Renovator will win me a signed poster from @tvdnews! Watch #TVD1912 this Thursday, March 15 at 8/7c on the CW! Be funny, be clever, be creative!
- Be sure you copy and paste the entry above as you must have the hashtag #TVD1912 and @tvdnews and include a character’s name (doesn’t matter if it’s first or last name or both, just make sure it’s clear what character you’re referring to).
- You have until Thursday, March 15th at 8pm ET to tweet your entries.
- Winners will be chosen at random and notified via DM by Tuesday, March 20th and will be announced on the blog when we do our round-up post on Wednesday, March 21st.
- Enter as many times as you’d like, but please do not go overboard spamming us with entries. Be reasonable. And have fun!
While Team V-D.net will be choosing the three winners randomly – one grand prize winner and two runners-up – we will be featuring our favorite entries overall on the blog. If you don’t win this round, don’t fret! Because you’ll have another chance next week.

In case you were unable to catch Joseph Morgan on MTV’s 10 on Top this past weekend, never fear: A kind soul has finally uploaded Joseph’s segment to YouTube and it’s worth the wait because he’s giving a tour of Klaus’s place! And it is as fantastic a glimpse as you could hope for (the framed love letters = brilliant). Also, cool TVD trivia: The paintings in Damon’s bedroom are also replicas of famous stolen paintings.

The clock is ticking down towards tonight’s episode, All My Children (EP315) but we couldn’t let Starry Constellation Magazine’s interview with Joseph Morgan go unnoticed. Joseph talks about the Original family (and anyone still trying to sort out the sibling age order will be pleased!), Klaus and romance and his feelings about fans and their response to the show. Spoiler warning for Dangerous Liaisons (EP314).
Q: Klaus has been starting to show that possibly he may have a good side. Would you like to see Klaus redeemed, or do you prefer him stuck in turmoil?A: I wouldn’t like to see him completely redeemed, you know. I think some of the things he’s done are pretty unforgivable, but I’d like see that I’ve explored more of his human side. In the episode that aired last week we definitely see a little more of definitely a side of him that we haven’t seen before and I’ve got the writers to thank for that. They keep giving me great stuff and layering up the character. So yeah, I would like to see a little more of his human side, but I don’t think complete redemption is in order, I mean you know, let’s not forget, he did kill Aunt Jenna as well as the wolf girl, Jules, and he tried to kill Elena as well. There’s a little list of things that people should remind themselves every now and again, you know, every time they feel like they should completely forgive him.

As we mentioned yesterday, Joseph Morgan (in addition to David Anders and Lauren Cohan) will be at MegaCon in Orlando this weekend. In preparation for his appearance, he talked to the Orlando Sentinel about his experiences working on the show and the character of Klaus. On Klaus’s development over time:
“It’s a natural progression,” Morgan says. “He started off as two-dimensional, but thanks to good writing, there have been some strong elements of humanity. He needs to evolve. Otherwise, people will just hate him. Unless he develops more human attributes, people will find him hard to relate to.”
And on his decision to take the role:
“It’s been the best decision I could have made,” Morgan says. “It really has put me in the public eye and given me an amazing fan base that’s been so supportive. I’ve never been a part of American TV. Seventeen episodes [so far] and many to come, I hope.”
We certainly hope so too!

AfterElton.com did a set visit recently, and spoke with Ian Somerhalder, Zach Roerig and Joseph Morgan about all things TVD.
In this article, the actors talk about their respective characters, shooting on location and the effects of their hectic schedules. Joseph Morgan touches on an issue of interest to many: whether or not Klaus is softening up.
“I think we are transitioning to making him a little more sympathetic,” Morgan observed. “We’re starting to learn the motives behind why he does what he does. But I think just like in life everything isn’t always polarized. He’s not good or bad. He’s layered. So, the more we learn about him the more maybe we’ll empathize or sympathize with him, but he’s always going to have done the things he’s done…I personally hope that he doesn’t just suddenly miraculously become good. I feel like there should be a chance of redemption for everyone, but he’s still going to carry that stuff with him.”

Bad news, everybody. It looks like Joseph Morgan will not be able to attend #TVDChicago as planned. We’re completely heartbroken wailing like banshees very disappointed over this turn of events, but we know Creation Entertainment will do their best to get another great guest for the convention. There’s information on the Creation page for anyone who already purchased specific photo op or autograph tickets, so make sure to check it out if you need to make any adjustments to your plans.
