XX The clock is ticking down towards tonight’s episode, All My Children (EP315) but we couldn’t let Starry Constellation Magazine’s interview with Joseph Morgan go unnoticed. Joseph talks about the Original family (and anyone still trying to sort out the sibling age order will be pleased!), Klaus and romance and his feelings about fans and their response to the show. Spoiler warning for Dangerous Liaisons (EP314).

Q: Klaus has been starting to show that possibly he may have a good side. Would you like to see Klaus redeemed, or do you prefer him stuck in turmoil?

A: I wouldn’t like to see him completely redeemed, you know. I think some of the things he’s done are pretty unforgivable, but I’d like see that I’ve explored more of his human side. In the episode that aired last week we definitely see a little more of definitely a side of him that we haven’t seen before and I’ve got the writers to thank for that. They keep giving me great stuff and layering up the character. So yeah, I would like to see a little more of his human side, but I don’t think complete redemption is in order, I mean you know, let’s not forget, he did kill Aunt Jenna as well as the wolf girl, Jules, and he tried to kill Elena as well. There’s a little list of things that people should remind themselves every now and again, you know, every time they feel like they should completely forgive him.

Joseph Morgan as KlausAs we mentioned yesterday, Joseph Morgan (in addition to David Anders and Lauren Cohan) will be at MegaCon in Orlando this weekend. In preparation for his appearance, he talked to the Orlando Sentinel about his experiences working on the show and the character of Klaus. On Klaus’s development over time:

“It’s a natural progression,” Morgan says. “He started off as two-dimensional, but thanks to good writing, there have been some strong elements of humanity. He needs to evolve. Otherwise, people will just hate him. Unless he develops more human attributes, people will find him hard to relate to.”

And on his decision to take the role:

“It’s been the best decision I could have made,” Morgan says. “It really has put me in the public eye and given me an amazing fan base that’s been so supportive. I’ve never been a part of American TV. Seventeen episodes [so far] and many to come, I hope.”

We certainly hope so too!

Candice Accola as CarolineTVLine talked to Candice Accola about what’s coming up for Caroline in tonight’s big episode and beyond. On how Caroline will deal with the host of tonight’s formal ball:

“Caroline is definitely not viewing Klaus as the nice guy. She’s not like, “Ooh! He’s got an edge!” She knows he’s an extreme, evil killer. But at the same time, Caroline recognizes and learns from even just being around Katherine that… you can’t back down. You can’t show fear. You can’t allow yourself to be backed into a corner. You have to stand up and be strong.”

And where’s Tyler, anyway?

“He has gone to work on himself [and] to learn how he can not fall prey to [having been] sired so he can take control back over his life. It’s because of Klaus that Tyler even bit Caroline to begin with. In order to fight for her and fight for himself, he’s taking the time to learn how to not be controlled by Klaus.”

E!Online has more cast interviews from their recent visit to the Vampire Diaries set and this time Candice Accola discusses the finer points of…uh, dancing, jewelry, and Tyler, in a rather coy, playful manner. You can watch Candice’s take below and then head over to E!Online for what Joseph Morgan has to say.

Joseph Morgan as KlausIn advance of tonight’s episode, Alix Sternberg of The TV Chick has a wide-ranging interview with Joseph Morgan in which he sheds light on Klaus’s relationships with everyone from his siblings to unlikely friends to potential love interests. (Warning: Spoilers through The Ties that Bind (EP312)!) On the evolving relationship between Klaus and Damon:

“Yeah, you know, I love those confrontations with Ian. It’s been a slow build between he and I. Well, I say slow build, but we tried to kill each other in the first five or six scenes we had. And then we got a little kind of more cordial. So it’s interesting how this relationship develops because most of them share that kind of loose cannon quality.”

He also teases a difficult scene with a horse and gives his thoughts on the Walking Dead finale.

And Hal Boedecker of the Orlando Sentinel also talked to Joseph about sibling dynamics and more. (Again: Spoilers through The Ties that Bind (EP312)!)

“I think Rebekah is the sibling Klaus is closest to. In a way, she’s the one he’s dreading to see the most because he loves her the most. I think that confrontation between the two of them will have to happen, and I think it would a crime if it doesn’t happen this season.”

On this week’s Vampire Diaries Bite, Robyn Ross of TV Guide talks to Joseph Morgan about some new information we’ll soon get about Klaus’s past as well as how he’ll feel about some upcoming events. Warning: Spoilers through The Ties that Bind (EP312)! Mythology fans will like this tidbit:

“We’re going to learn about the ritual they went through to become vampires and also the ritual that made Klaus’ werewolf side dormant,” Morgan says.

In the video (again – spoilers through the previous episode!), there’s more about Klaus’s feelings on a potential Original family reunion, his dinner party, and what might devastate him.

Joseph Morgan as KlausTerron Moore of Ology just had brunch with Joseph Morgan, Zach Roerig, and Ian Somerhalder and got a nice serving of inside information, jokes, and TVD analogies to everyone from Batman to Yogi Bear to Kublai Khan. Warning: Spoilers through The Ties That Bind (EP312)! On Klaus’s trust issues:

JOSEPH: I think that there’s potential for him to change, yes, but it’s going to be really difficult. Because as well as being selfish, he’s incredibly paranoid. He’s spent the last 1000 years maintaining this lie he’s told his siblings. He’s the product of a dysfunctional family, having this horrible relationship with his father, being a bastard child, not feeling accepted by the rest of his family… so I think he has real issues with trust…

IAN: I feel like Klaus is what happened with Rome, or like, Kublai Khan. He’s created this empire of deceit, and he has to keep it down to protect himself.

Plus, Assignment X recently caught up with Candice Accola and asked her about shipping, stunts, and more. On how her dance training has helped:

“By no means was I going to be a professional dancer, but I grew up taking dance classes down the street and that’s actually been the most helpful in the stunt work, counting out the steps and “five, six, seven, eight, and punch.” It is funny how those little things that you learned as a kid that you don’t think are going to translate, all of a sudden, as an adult, they help you out in your job. So that was something that I did physically when I was young.”

Candice Accola as CarolineEntertainment Weekly is in Atlanta on the Vampire Diaries set, and they’re getting all sorts of good scoop from the cast. (Warning: Lots of spoilers through The Ties That Bind (EP312)!) Joseph Morgan says, of the dinner party Klaus will throw in Bringing Out the Dead (EP313):

“This is going to be interesting because there’s all of that feeling, all of that tension from all of the fights and manipulation and history that’s been going on between these guys sitting around the dinner table. It’s like a game of poker.”

Intriguing! And they have a great video with Candice Accola in which she discusses Caroline’s reactions to recent events – including her new potential love interest and a “being” that is “creating a lot more turmoil than any viewer might think.” Plus: Ian Somerhalder on Damon’s odds of getting Elena – and who might have a better chance.
