Happy Premiere Day! Let’s have a toast, shall we? MTV Hollywood Crush has our first look at episode 3 of The Vampire Diaries Season 3: The End of the Affair. This ep marks the first appearance of guest star Claire Holt as a former flame of Stefan’s and a big chunk of the action takes place in Chicago.

Set your alarms, West Coast fans! This news comes directly from the Hybrid’s mouth -or twitter, anyway- Joseph Morgan was kind enough to give the heads up himself. He tweeted:
Doing a few on camera interviews, the first of which will be on KTLA tomorrow (Thursday) at 7:45 AM Pacific. Hope you tune in ;)
Joseph Morgan with your coffee? Now that’s a great way to start premiere day! Don’t live in LA? No problem. You can watch Joseph’s interview on KTLA’s livestream (a link to the stream will appear on the KTLA homepage in the morning).
TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross chats with Paul Wesley and Julie Plec about Stefan’s Road to Ripperdom: the slippery slope of being Klaus’s minion and going so far into the pit that there may be no climbing out. Stefan’s letting things go – and that includes Elena.
As Stefan travels further towards destruction we’ll continue to see different sides of him. At first, Stefan reluctantly follows through with Klaus’ demands while secretly plotting against him so that he can protect his loved ones. Then, Plec says, “There’s the Stefan who just can’t stop once he gets started … and then ultimately there’s going to be the Stefan that doesn’t care anymore and that’s the most dangerous Stefan. When that happens that will take the most to recover from.”
You guys may remember The Insider‘s Jarett Wieselman tweeting out a cell phone snapshot of a new Vampire Diaries promo poster on display at Saturday night’s CW Fall Premiere Party. Well, now he has an exclusive first (and much clearer!) look at that same poster – and it’s pretty freaking awesome. We can’t wait to see this baby in HQ.

Ever picture Damon Salvatore with a bloody head in one hand and a darling kitten in the other? Thanks to Ian Somerhalder and this interview with Collider, you will now! Ian Somerhalder rather neatly sums up Damon’s situation as the season opens:
Ultimately, he’s not happy with the way things have turned out. He tried, for two seasons, to get his brother to do what he wanted him to do, which is to be what he is. He wants them to just eat and destroy everything in their paths. Now, Stefan is running around with a guy that Damon hates and tried to kill him. He’s effectively left Damon in this town with this girl who’s 150 years younger than he is, that he’s in love with, but can’t have because she doesn’t want him and it’s his brother’s girl. He’s just sitting there, thinking to himself, “This sucks!” But, I think he’s going to rise to the occasion. He’ll have the same grin on his face, if he’s ripping your head off or saving a kitten. He feels the same way about both things.
The interview goes on to share Ian’s thoughts on the big Damon/Elena kiss, and how Damon might feel about sex with Bonnie. Definitely not one to miss!
Kevin Williamson also has some things to say about season 3, and he starts out by saying Klaus, Klaus, Klaus!
In the first half of the season, I think we’re going to really enjoy Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and him being not only an Original, but the bastard child of the Original Family. Now, he’s a hybrid and he’s lifted the curse. It will be watching what he does. He has a whole plan behind it all, and Stefan (Paul Wesley) is part of that plan. He sets his plan in motion in the very first episode, and we play that out for a while.
I love you, Kevin Williamson. <3
There's a lot more to the interview than just our favorite (and only) hybrid, however. Kevin talks about the different love triangles going on in Mystic Falls these days, and a little bit about Jeremy's ghostly girlfriends.
The Insider‘s Jarett Wieselman has our first peek at Joseph Morgan’s Vampire Diaries Season 3 promo portrait. Head over to The Insider to see the full photo.
UPDATE: Added full photo.
Rocking an extremely slick suit, the Brit looks every inch the ravishing ravager who turned Mystic Falls upside down in season two, turning both the actor and the character into indispensable fan favorites!

Put down your beverages and get ready to flail! The CW has released some new stills from the season 3 premiere episode, The Birthday. Our long drought is almost at an end, my friends. IS IT SEPTEMBER YET?!?!
MegaCon – “The Southeast’s premier Comic Book, Anime, Sci-Fi/Fantasy and multimedia event” – has announced Vampire Diaries’ own Joseph Morgan, David Anders, and Lauren Cohan as Media Guests for their 2012 event. The convention will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, February 17-19, 2012.
As always, please keep in mind that all convention guest appearances are subject to change. Thanks to @JosephMorganFans for the heads up!
So, a sociopath, a werewolf and a freaking nut-bag walk into a bar…
…and everyone else runs out screaming!
I kid, I kid. I don’t actually know what will happen, but if David Gallagher looked at me like that, I’d probably head for the hills. UPDATE: Added full still.
We’ve heard a few things this week about what Klaus & Stefan have been up to (side note: best Paul Wesley quote ever!) and now TV Line has an awesome picture of Klaus, Stefan and newcomer werewolf Ray Sutton (played by Gallagher), who’ll be appearing in the first two episodes of season 3. Go look at the picture and then come back and raise your hand if you think this scene ends with a bar fight.
Hold on to your hats! We’re heading into the home stretch of the summer hiatus, and it seems like every day is bringing new info about season 3. We’ve seen our first glimpses in the new Season 3 Promo, and now Zap2It brings us some insight from Ian Somerhalder into what’s going on with Stefan, Damon and Elena as the season opens up.
“Damon knows this cycle with his brother,” Somerhalder tells us. “He’s seen it before, totally. He says to Elena, ‘Stefan’s not coming back. Not in your lifetime.’ I mean, she’s young, but human beings only live maybe eighty years. For Stefan and Damon, that’s nothing. Unless Klaus rips their hearts out, they’re going to live for another thousand years.”
Want to know what else Ian has to say about life with -or without- Ripper Stefan? Head on over to Zap2it and find out!
