You knew it was only a matter of time, right? We love our polls and this one’s big: Narrow down your favorite Vampire Diaries: Season One episodes to your TOP THREE. (I can do four, so I’m sweating a bit.) Which episodes made you yell at your television with joy or frustration? Challenged or solidified your allegiances? Turned your character perspective upside down? Which episodes left you with an emotional hangover the next day and had you dissecting it, minute by minute, scene by scene, in blog post comments or in forums? Which three episodes reel you back in, over and over again?
For the first time, we’re going multiple choice. Check your three favorite episodes and see where your fellow fans land. And if you’re so inclined, let us know how and why you settled on your picks.

Little late with this, what with Amazon posting the episode so late yesterday, but how ’bout Vampire Diaries Thursday night? The ratings for Let the Right One In are much better than last week’s, to say the least. From the CW press release, courtesy of TV By the Numbers:
The CW’s freshman hit THE VAMPIRE DIARIES scored dramatic week-to-week gains, with increases of 26% in women 18-34 (2.4/8), 20% in adults 18-34 (1.8/6), 25% in women 18-49 (2.0/6), 23% in adults 18-49 (1.6/5), 33% in female teens (2.8/11) and 25% in total viewers (3.5 million), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Thursday, April 8, 2010. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES posted its largest total audience since 2/11/10.
Competitively, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES won the 8:00-9:00p.m. hour among female teens, and tied for second among women 18-34.
Let’s be sure we keep up those figures for this Thursday’s episode, Under Control, yeah? (Watch the extended promo.) And if you’re looking for good Let the Right One In discussion, our forum’s bursting with it, so join in! And if you want to rate the episode, vote in our poll.
And for those looking for streaming/downloads…

As a side note, the response to Let the Right One In has been tremendous across the board. Yesterday was the busiest day, traffic-wise, that this site has ever had, and the enthusiasm for Vampire Diaries seems to be at an all-time high. Only five episodes left in the season, guys – and we don’t think the show will disappoint. Let’s make every Thursday count through the May 13th finale.

Tonight begins the final six episode stretch ’til the end of Vampire Diaries season one, and Julie Plec is dropping some hints to SciFi Wire about what fans can expect tonight and in upcoming episodes. Nothing earth-shatteringly new here, but for those wondering about the Damon and Alaric situation? Yeah, this is going to be very interesting.
While Plec isn’t about to give away too many details, she does promise The Vampire Diaries will end its first season with a cliffhanger. “All cliffhangers, all the time. That’s how we roll,” Plec said with a laugh. “It is infuriating for the fans and exhilarating for the fans. And I don’t think they’d have it any other way.”

Usually this is where I give some light-hearted spiel about tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, which airs on the CW at 8/7c, but after countless viewings of the Let the Right One In promo… Not really feeling light-hearted about this one. In fact, we’re thinking this one’s going to be pretty damn heavy and we expect there will be loads to say about it when the hour is through. Some are already chiming in before they’ve even watched the episode (or is it more a critique of the promo?), which we find rather interesting. Apparently there’s a specific formula The Vampire Diaries is expected to adhere to, who knew? What do you guys think? From where we sit, this is one of the series’ most anticipated episodes to date, so we hope you’ll watch and judge for yourself.
Tulsa, Oklahoma fans: We’re sorry to say that The Vampire Diaries will not be airing on KQCW tonight due to the Tulsa Drillers game. You can catch the first airing of the episode on Saturday night, April 10th, at 7pm (or just download it from Amazon/iTunes on Friday).
