You can find Nina Dobrev gracing the cover of NYLON’s February 2012 issue and the mag has included snippets from the feature on their website, as well as outtakes from the cover shoot. Thanks to PopSugar for the peek at the cover!
On doing more films
“I want to become a different person, and that’s what working in film allows. I want to be a punk or a sweetheart or a drug addict! There are so many things to explore… Sometimes they’ll be like, ‘She’s not plain enough.’ Or ‘She’s not edgy enough.’ That frustrates me. I feel like a blank canvas, and I wish people would be a little more open-minded.”
We tweeted a glimpse from our Twitter the other night but be sure to pick up the February 2012 issue of CBS’s Watch! magazine (Matt Czuchry and Archie Panjabi of The Good Wife on the cover) for a nice fold-out feature on Nina entitled The Dobrev Diaries.
And Seventeen has an interview with Nina about how she celebrated her birthday this year, “Vampire Diaries memories,” and what we can expect on the show very soon:
17: Can you tell us about the new episodes at the end of the month?
ND: There’s a ball coming up in Mystic Falls and all the main players are invited. They don’t know what to expect because there’s a lot of tension and being at this party feels like it’s a ticking time bomb. Everyone is on guard waiting for it to go off. There’s drama on and off the dance floor — some of the characters connect, for better or for worse. And the last thing I can say is that there are some pretty pivotal things that are said and cannot be taken back. It will come as a huge surprise for the audience!
If the winter hiatus is getting you down, we’ve got just the thing to perk you up a bit. Steven R. McQueen is featured in the latest issue of Bello Magazine (it’ll be out on December 15th!), and you’ll definitely want to get your hands on a copy. You can see some of the pictures and get a hint about the article here at Socialite Life.
Paul Wesley appears in the new issue of People Magazine, numbered among their picks for Sexiest Man Alive for the second year in a row. Once you can tear your eyes away from the picture, you can read about teenage Paul’s penchant for sneaking out at night, and about what he considers a suitable ambiance for an ideal date. Michael Trevino and Steven R. McQueen are mentioned in features in the issue as well, and Ian Somerhalder is included in the online-only slide show Sexy Guys at Every Age. Check out this scan of Paul’s page (courtesy silentwilight@tumblr, thanks!), and make sure to pick up a copy of the magazine from your local newsstand!
Huge thanks to Courtney and Steven R. McQueen Online for scans of Mr. McQueen’s feature in the November 2011 issue of Wonderland Magazine. Steven chats about the appeal of vampires, what he enjoys about his job, the layers of Jeremy Gilbert, and his dream date. Click the interview below to read over at Steven R. McQueen Online.
Disfunkshion Magazine recently interviewed the lovely Candice Accola, and our friends over at Candice Accola Web were kind enough to give us the heads up. Candice answered questions about how she got her start in acting, what it’s like working on The Vampire Diaries, and her involvement with charitable causes. She also talked a little bit about her character, on the question of whether or not there are any similarities between herself and Caroline Forbes.
Can you relate to your character in the Vampire Diaries in any way?
Candice: I can definitely relate! My character recently discovers her super natural powers. Now while I can’t relate directly in that sense, I am also a young woman still discovering myself at the same time.
You can read the rest of the (excellently titled!) interview and see scans of the magazine spread HERE AT DISFUNKSHION MAGAZINE.
Make sure to pick up TV Guide Magazine‘s Hot List 2011 issue this week! Our favorite Hot Hybrid, Klaus, has made the list and Joseph Morgan gives his thoughts on the “hotness” of Klaus and even reveals his personal pick for “coolest Klaus moment” onscreen. Thanks to Denise for the scan. You can read it below or in the Gallery.
Hardly Magazine spoke with Steven R. McQueen recently and the actor shared some of his favorite music, talked about shooting in Vancouver, and a little about leaving Jeremy on set at the end of the day. The actor also asserts that he’s happy to still be on Team Human.
“I enjoy playing a human in this fantasy world,” says McQueen who is happy not to see Jeremy become a vampire, werewolf, or hybrid (part vampire/part werewolf).
In addition to the article, there are some beautiful pictures by photographer Yunice Kang, you can see them all here.
The October 13th issue of TV Guide Magazine has a great Q&A with Paul Wesley and Joseph Morgan in which they discuss how Joseph won the role of Klaus, the Stefan and Klaus dynamic, what lies in store for the vampire duo, and lots more. And, as you can see, a new Season 3 promo photo to boot. The issue is on stands now so be sure to pick up a copy! Huge thanks to Denise for the scan. Friday Night Bites is a weekly round-up for various tidbits of show and cast/crew news not quite big enough to warrant a blog post, not strictly Vampire Diaries-related, or that somehow just fell through the cracks. Please insert theme song by Explosions in the Sky here and enjoy.
